We’re honored to begin introducing the artists who will co-create this year’s Summer Solstice Frequency Festival. DJ Drez transforms the vibe of any scene his sound is set upon. Rooted in underground hip hop, he applies precise turntable skills to a cutting-edge vision for universal music, integrating elements of hip hop, world music, soul, funk, jazz, and reggae into his trademark sound and production. A master of his craft, Drez composes original tracks that support movement in all forms, from dance to yoga asana and intimate, ecstatic spaces. A truly gifted teacher, Marti Nikko is known for motivating her students through her own passion. Fully certified in Yoga and the Pilates Method, with over 20 years in the wellness community, she teaches from a deep understanding of movement and the body. Her sessions encourage focus, awareness, and presence, supporting each student in finding strength and ease. She believes in the deep healing power of yoga and creates spaces that invite depth, clarity, and wellbeing. If you’re a fan of DJ Drez, you’ve likely experienced Marti’s voice, mysterious, seductive, soulful, and deeply expressive, gracing dozens of albums, tracks, and remixes. Her vocals move within the spaces arranged by DJ Drez, revealing a richness developed through years of performing and living this human experience. This series reimagines the boundary between performer and audience. Letting go of the formality of a traditional concert, this series offers a "casual but professional" look at the raw, organic evolution of sound and how it unfolds in real time. In this 90-minute immersive journey, you are invited to witness DJ Drez, Egemen Sanli and collaborators exploring instruments, testing textures, and building sonic landscapes in real-time shaped by the energy of the room. This is an open-format space. Whether you wish to move, sit in meditation, or lie down and dance, you are welcome. Fridays at @djdrez 's studio usually mean one thing: a jam session. 🥁 This time, a corner full of percussion caught my eye. What started as a simple question quickly turned into a full-blown drum jam in front of the condenser mic. As the layers grew, the melody started calling to me. But the real magic happened when I saw Leila (Drez’s daughter) peeking through the door. In the most Turkish way possible, I howled "Haydi Leila!" and invited her into the mix. Right then and there, the opening track of our album was born. 🎙️✨
