I want to say thank you to @djjazzyjeff and @lynettectownes for inviting me to the 2025 @playlistretreat and opening their home to all of us. It takes so much trust, energy and love to do this every year. So, to take part in it has literally been a dream come true. They have a skill in finding the right people to make it feel like family, like home and that felt as soon as we all got there.
It’s amazing and humbling to be around people you look up to, who you admire, who you’ve studied for years and feel like you belong. I’m still on cloud 9 and inspired to keep this energy going year round. I’m so inspired man. This makes me wanna focus on my creativity 100x times more and not be concerned about anything. Just BE CREATIVE IN YOUR OWN WAY because the people who need to get it and understand it will. My ideas list got so much longer, but it also has a different focus too, which I love.
And sure I met cool people, but I genuinely connected with them too. Randomly sparking up a 45 minute conversation about life, health and family with people I’ve never met before happened all the time and it was so fulfilling. No egos, no whatever, it was all love. It’s like we all spoke the same language, and it was more than music. I can’t explain it, but it was understood.
ALTHOUGH having cut sessions with Shortkut, Mell Starr, Ease, Perly, Aktive and other DJs was pretty damn dope too. Telling Jake One directly how much I love Tuxedo was dope. Meeting all my favorite DJ producers was dope. Having a meal with some of my favorite musicians was dope. DJing with the bands in spontaneous jam sessions was dope. Workout out at 9am with Young Guru was dope. And dunking on Jeff’s hoop was extra dope. Yall already know lol.
I really felt like I missed so much with the health stuff I went through in 2023 and 2024. But going from barely being able to walk for 5-10 seconds, 9 surgeries in the span of 2 years and not knowing if I’ll ever be able to DJ again to taking part in the ONE thing that mattered to me most is the dopest. Like just keep going because you never know who’s watching or listening.
All I could say throughout the week was, “I’m just happy”.

Thankful for a lot of stuff this year, especially with all the great experiences and people I’ve met this year.
BUT I’m especially thankful for this @playlistretreat bomber jacket that I won at the retreat. Like I said in the video, I’m good. Christmas came early, this is getting framed, it ain’t leaving the house. I’m. Good. 🤣🤣🤣
