Letter to Mister Cee I been holding on to this story for awhile now. I was hoping you were gonna see it but life sometimes has other plans. 😢 When I first formally met you at the station, let’s just say, you were definitely “in character!” 😂 When you asked what I did at the station I definitely was fumbling my words and I just spat out, “I’m a DJ.” In classic Cee fashion, you said, “Aight, let me see your laptop then!” After an extensive search through my library your words, “Aight not too bad!! @lenboogsonair , he’s good here.“ Our friendship evolved from there. You were like a father figure to me. When.I would fuck up, you would either call me or stop me and put me on game. Years went by, I moved to LA and you moved on from HOT. When you saw me @djwallah ’s birthday party, the day before my birthday, you couldn’t believe it. You ran back to the DJ booth, stopped the music and shouted me out. (SLIDE 2) To this day, that is one of the happiest moments of my life and the best birthday gift I’ve ever gotten. Thanks Boogs for capturing me capturing it. I been listening to you since I was 12 years old. I remember when you texted me that you were going to play the Kobe tribute and that was the first time you played anything I made. I definitely was on the phone w @djbigben for 2 hours going CRAZY! I remember when we turned POWER 106 into KENDRICK 106, and you gave me my flowers and said “A-SMOOTH I WAS HARD ON YOU BUT YOU STOOD THE TEST OF TIME!!! I HAD TO MAKE SURE YOU WERE GOING TO UPHOLD THE CULTURE AND YOU DID!!: ”THIS KENDRICK SHIT GONNA SOUND NUTS!!!!” Thank you for giving us Biggie, thank you for all the lessons on the Throwback at Noon (I’d skip class in college to listen), all the stories at HOT on Friday afternoons (Biggie cutting you a $10,000 check when you were on “the fall off” period with Big Daddy Kane) I’m so glad I got to give you your flowers multiple times. And thanks for giving me mine. Every time you called me, texted me, I can say I cherished every second of it so much to the point I would take screenshots.
