@dj.koolt is an iconic figure in the South American underground scene, known for delivering unique sets that never follow trends but instead respond to the energy of the crowd, drawing from his vast vinyl collection. Performing both as DJ Koolt, focused on electronic dance music, and as Mr. Koolt, with a more open-format approach, he creates a deep and lasting connection on the dancefloor. Behind the name is Eduardo Cardozo, who was introduced to music at an early age by his family and began experimenting in the ’90s, recording tracks from the radio and mixing on a double cassette player before buying his first turntables and playing at house parties. Over time, he became one of Uruguay’s most influential DJs and a mentor to younger generations, as well as a co-founder of Phonotheque in 2013, a club that has grown into a key institution in the Latin American underground and a respected name worldwide. Since 2017, his career has expanded internationally with tours across Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the United States, performing at renowned venues and festivals, while always staying true to his original passion for the dancefloor.

DJ KOOLT joins us on May 23rd.
Born out of instinct rather than intention, Eduardo Cardozo has spent decades shaping dancefloors without ever chasing them. From early cassette recordings to a lifelong dedication to vinyl, his path feels less like a career and more like a continuous dialogue with sound.
As DJ Koolt, his sets move through electronic territories with precision and depth. As Mr. Koolt, the spectrum widens. The essence remains the same, reading the room, responding in real time, letting the energy guide the journey.
A central figure in Uruguay’s underground, and co-founder of Phonotheque, Koolt has quietly influenced generations while building something that extends far beyond geography. His sets carry that history, not nostalgically, but in the way they unfold.
No fixed direction. No repetition. Just presence.
23rd May at Cartulis.

@dj.koolt makes his RADAR debut this summer.
A cornerstone of Uruguay’s underground since the ’90s, he’s known for vinyl-driven sets moving between acid, breaks and techno. Fresh from Dekmantel Festival ’25 and a long-standing friend of ours, we’re excited to welcome him to the live-streamed arena on Sunday 2 August.
