⚔️ Turning on the timer has quietly changed my jump rope life. 🪢
I’ve used timers for my jump rope warm-ups since the beginning.
But last year,
I started using timers for skill drills too.
I practice skills on my dominant and non-dominant sides because I want to improve symmetrically, and I’m quite comfy feeling clunky and awkward. 😅
Honestly…
it’s been kind of amazing.
—
Not because every session suddenly became smooth.
This reel contains evidence to the contrary. 😂
But because for me, progress lives inside repetition.
Inside showing up.
Inside practicing even when I feel awkward or sloppy.
Inside being willing to look ridiculous while experimenting with the rope.
—
The rope has humbled me so many times.
Handles to the face.
Launched headphones.
Beads to the shins.
Missed timing.
Botched endings. 😌
But that’s part of the magic too.

Six months ago,
I would’ve struggled with some of what’s in this reel.
Now I feel more capable,
more comfortable,
and more free when I’m jumping rope.
All because I kept showing up, turning on the timer, and playing in public. ☀️💛
