As we turn 1 on the DAB airwaves this weekend
Subjam itself is a lot older than you probably know
It was started in 1995 as a pirate station and transmitted across London for a short period of time.
After this around the 2000 mark it came back with new owners who pushed Subjam and its events to its full potential and were known across London by most as one of the stations to listen to for garage music.
Subjam faded out around 2013 due to the scene and management changing
Over the years people would ask what happened to subjam and why it wasn’t resurrected.
In 2024 the old subjam team started a group chat reminiscing on the past of subjam.
The decision was made to resurrect Subjam on DAB
Staying true to our underground sound and showing that pirate radio had nothing to do with criminal activity it was for the love of music
We wasn’t given a choice to obtain a licence back then
But thanks to DAB we can now show our love and dedication to our music
