The Thomas Dambo Trolls have arrived at Dix Park! 🧌✨ Before you visit these larger-than-life sculptures, check out these tips to help you plan your adventure. Dix Park and the Trolls are free to visit seven days a week from dawn to dusk. They are spread throughout the 308-acres of Dix Park, in areas with natural surfaces and uneven ground, so we recommend close toed, sturdy shoes. Feel free to touch, hug and/or take pictures with the trolls! Please no climbing on the trolls – except for Mother's tail. Recommended Parking Lots: Flowers Field, Big Field, Dog Park, Lot A, Lot C, Lot F. No parking is permitted on the side of the road or in the grass. Free park-and-ride shuttles are available but some walking is still necessary. The Trolls can't wait to meet you! 💚 Plan your visit at dixpark.org/trolls

Stitching Stories Reimagined is a collaborative public artwork inspired by a quilt created by four incarcerated women at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women. Now installed at Dix Park, the 30-foot piece transforms those stories into an immersive experience through mosaic, mirrored surfaces, and custom vinyl design. The installation invites visitors to reflect on with the experiences of the 62 women whose narratives helped shape the project. Stitching Stories Reimagined is made possible by @raleigh_arts . Located at 1100 Umstead Drive and open daily. Learn more about this installation and other public art at Dix Park: dixpark.org/art

In honor of Mental Health Month, we're highlighting "Get Well Soon" by Raleigh-based artist and licensed mental health counselor, Lamar Whidbee. The piece captures the artist’s desire to acknowledge the history of Dix Hospital and mental health patients past and present, while encouraging greater compassion and fearlessness – often exhibited in the children around us, like Whidbee’s daughter, as we engage and improve mental healthcare today, much like Dorothea Dix did in her own time, generations ago. Next time you're strolling through Dix Park, take a moment to pause and look up at "Get Well Soon," and consider the importance of empathy, healing, and human connection. 💚 Learn more about art in the park at dixpark.org/art
