Live from Mumbai for @lakmefashionwk x @fdciofficial ! I sat down with @elleindia to discuss my views on the opportunity for Indian design talent and my advice for brands looking to scale to a global platform. Full link in bio!
- Indiaās breakthrough moment in cultural relevancy
- 3 key factors I look for when assessing new brands
- What Iām excited to see from designers showing @lakmefashionwk x @fdciofficial
- How getting in front of international Buyers too early in your brand journey can backfire
- Why no brand can survive on being trend driven alone
It was a treat to speak with @rachel.elspeth.gross@forbes to have a wide-ranging discussion about the future of fashion. This feature story is quite meaningful to me as it covers everything I have been building over the last 20 years, and how it shapes where the industry is headed next. [Full link in bio]
- Curation isnāt about limiting a consumerās choice. Itās about instinctively knowing what she wants, while also inspiring her to discover something new.
- Influencer isnāt going anywhere. Iām very bullish on discovery platforms like @shopmy that foster transparency between creators and consumers, and allow for the democratization of style and taste.
-The prevalance of AI in our day-to-day creates a step function change in people wanting to spend their time IRL- physically doing things and seeking out community. Sports, wellness, music, and travel are huge beneficiaries of this.
- Serving a global consumer means looking outside the traditional fashion capitals for talent. India is primed to deliver the next wave of design talent- with designers transitioning from manufacturing to owning their own customer facing brand identity. @falgunishanepeacock@rahulmishra_7@afew.rahulmishra@falgunipeacock@deme_love_@gabriellademetriades
- The decoupling of Price and Prestige- simply charging an astronomical price no longer signals prestige. Product that justifies its price through exclusivity, craftsmanship, and an authentic connection to the consumer, is the new gold standard in luxury. Well done @chanelofficial .
Gold Gala Part 2: Congrats to all of the honorees at this yearās #goldgala. Itās incredible to see the influence of the Asian community across every single industry and equally incredible that @bingchen had the vision to create this gathering. This yearās gala honored @priyankachopra with the inaugural Vanguard award, presented to her by her long time manager @anjula_acharia . Watching two trailblazing women on stage in support of one another was a shining example of how this community lifts each other up. Thank you @goldhouse for a beautiful evening. šš«āØ

Dropping the arm routine šŖ! Iāve only been doing Lagree for 8 months, but itās massively changed my strength, alignment, and tone. If youāre thinking about trying it, hereās my quick survival guide:
1. If you absolutely hate the first several classesā¦you are doing it right.
2. Prioritize form before increasing your weight load. I was often lifting too heavy and utilizing my neck and lower back to compensate.
3. Time under tension = long and lean. Outlasting the burn builds both mental stamina and sculpted arms.
4. Find a teacher who consistently corrects your form. Tiny adjustments in positioning make a massive difference in isolating muscle groups. @criminalfitnessburlingame Lorene ā¤ļø
5. Just try it! The worst thing that can happen is you fall off your Mega Reformer. If you do, you should definitely give up and find another workout. šš¤£š
Behind the scenes shooting Add to Cart- featuring the latest drop from @srgatelier our exclusive collection with @sofiagrainge . My favorite drop to date! Gorgeous lace and silk in shades of ivory, pink, and ice blue. My picks in bio and exclusively on @revolve@fwrd .
Letās talk about mom guilt! š¢
Two things can be true at once:
You get real joy from your workāand you deeply miss your kids when youāre away.
And the guilt sits rights in between.
I think a lot about the values I want my kids to haveāespecially motivation. The kind that comes from within.
At 9 and 7, they have access to far more than I did at those ages. Iām proud of that, but if Iām honest, it also worries me. Because when nothing is out of reach, itās easy to never feel the need to reach.
So I try to show them what that looks like.
When I travel, I donāt say I have to āfor workā. I tell them I love what I doāand sometimes that means being away to build something I care about.
They see the big accomplishments, but also the misses. The excitement and the disappointment.
And when they say, āMama, do you have to go?ā I tell them I miss them just as muchāand that Iām grateful they support me, just as Iāll always support them.
Maybe the goal isnāt to eliminate the guiltāmaybe itās just to show them what it looks like to really go for something. ā¤ļøš
Side note- I bought Shaan one of those cheap Amazon āapple watchesā so he could reach me when Iām traveling. I wasnāt expecting all of these sweet (and sad!) voice notes that he sent me!
This Spring Break, I did something Iāve never done before. I made zero plans. No scheduled activities, no commitments, just the no plan plan. And it was the most brilliant plan ever.
These are the days I will remember. No greater blessing than to love and be loved by these 3. ššš
