Boise, I can’t believe how surreal that whole experience was. Getting to travel to Idaho Noise Fest and being fortunate enough to play the fest was one of the greatest experiences of my entire life. I met incredible people and got to see parts of the country I never saw before. Thank you to @idahonoisefest @mutilatedcircuitry for their incredible hard work in organizing all of this and for having me! Thank you to @realms.life for hosting this fest and for being one of, if not the greatest venue I’ve ever been to. Thank you to Eric at Realms for giving me this DOD mixer that I can’t wait to use it now that I’m home! Thank you to everyone who came to the fest and to all that support noise! I only wish I could’ve stayed longer in Boise, and I hope to play Idaho Noise Fest again! . Buddyfest XI is happening July 24,25,26 this year!!! Distorting a Woodpecker is nature and death themed mercurial harsh noise from New Hampshire. Using multiple pedalboards filled with guitar pedals, vintage microphones, cassette tapes, noise synths, a Japanese koto, and a 10 string guitar among other things, Distorting a Woodpecker combines these sound sources to create disorienting and punishing harsh noise.  Distorting a Woodpecker is the loudest harsh noise you will ever feel.

I first connected with The Owl (@onecontinuousroom ) when @loudsilencedigital released Trilogy in April of 2025. Since then, Paul has done an amazing job in mastering a handful of other albums I have put out. While working on these albums we talked about how he currently lives in the Czech Republic and how I hoped to visit there someday and even play shows in Czechia if possible. It’s surreal to think that a little over a year later the Owl and I will get to meet in person and play 3 shows across Czechia. This split album is meant to celebrate the music we have worked on together along with the shows we will get to play together in Brno, Ostrava, and Prague. This split album features 5 new songs from The Owl, 4 songs spanning the last few years of the Distorting a Woodpecker discography, 1 new and previously unreleased Distorting a Woodpecker song, and two collaboration songs from The Owl & Distorting a Woodpecker.
