Remote recording studio you say…. We are thankfully dug out and accessible again. The bronco plow died the day before the blizzard due to an electrical issue. But surrounding neighbors were able to bring in some machinery and help remove the big stuff. Huge thanks to them. This winter has tested some limits, but we’re still tracking, still chasing sounds in the woods. #blizzardof26
The ramp is done. Been hacking away at this for 2.5 years. Thank you to @great_tattoo_parlor for selling me this at a steal. Swipe to see the journey of the rebuild. Disassembled it, cleared the land, leveled the land, two coats of exterior paint, two layers of plywood, two layers of roofing paper, one chopped down tree, and one layer of skatelite. Endless, endless thanks to @billyboy8117 for the extra set of hands. Could not have done it without you! We developed a skatelite screw grid design to avoid hitting any prior screws on lower levels of plywood…. It was beyond complicated! But this thing is sturdy as hell. A dream come true! Currently skating in heaven.
The debut @swrm_pvd Bandcamp album Lights Out drops today on @cuneiformrecords . Built over a few months of sonic exploration deep in the woods of Smithfield, RI with @jaredkmann at his @distortedforeststudio . With guest vocalsby Mary Sullivan of @yawni___ and many thanks to Maeve Wiley for the design. Lights Out explores themes of paranoia and desperation and the collapse of everything. It's the feel-bad hit of the summer. Play it loud.
