Guess what our students made at cooking class with @distinctiveideas today! It was sweet & a huge hit among our student chefs! We are so proud of our students who were enthusiastic about trying new foods and engaged in learning new cooking skills with Chef Kristiann!
Yesterday, we hosted our second after school cooking class for students at Mayberry! During this session, 2nd and 3rd grade students made their own veggie pasta salad. Students started by choosing the veggies for they wanted to add, the practiced their knife skills by chopping up their veggies, flavored their salad with aromatic herbs, and finally made their very own dressing for the pasta salad using ingredients. We had some very curious and brave students who tried lots of new vegetables today - bravo!
It’s safe to say students really enjoyed the experience and final product. As one student put it: “this is the best day ever!” 🥕🥒🫑🧅🌶️
