We’re excited to share that we have a show with our friends Ember Pond and Ships to Sink at Mutiny on Saturday, May 30 at 3pm!
Distance Walk went away for awhile, but we never wanted to give it up. Mostly we’re all really busy with life stuff and families and other bands. We’re morphing into a more instrumental sound, and we’re going to have a little more of a rotating cast so we can keep things going. For the Mutiny show I’ll be on banjo, Seth on guitar, Ty on pedal steel, and Joe on bass.
All that said, everyone is still in the fold to varying degrees and as time allows, and I am very grateful for. See you soon! - Barry
PS Thanks as always to @danherro for the gorgeous poster art, and Ember for designing the poster

A SHOW. A SHOW? A SHOW! I am extremely honored and excited to open for John Francis Flynn with David Howley at Lost Lake Lounge on Saturday, March 29.
Please DM me for fee free tickets.
Though billed as Distance Walk, I'll be playing this show solo, playing both DW tunes and new ones that will be on the EP I'm releasing later this spring. Also, I am releasing an EP later this spring.
John Francis Flynn has been one of my favorite artists since I first heard him in 2021. The Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist's debut solo album I Would Not Live Always is an instant classic as it defiantly mixes trad through a post-folk lens to gorgeous result. It was named the best folk album of the year by The Guardian. Two years later his radical reconstruction of the old-time tune "Mole In The Ground" was named Top Track of The Year by The Quietus.
Indie folk artist from Ireland and founding member of We Banjo 3, David Howley has been at the forefront of Irish guitar, banjo and mandolin for over a decade. An award-winning vocalist, he has performed with The Chieftains, Eileen Ivers, Carlos Nunez, Billy Strings, Bela Fleck, Altan, Ajeet and Mumford & Sons, amongst others. David’s first solo album has been called “a thing of rare beauty” by the Irish Times.
It's going to be an amazing night and I'm excited to be part of it. See you Saturday, March 29 at Lost Lake in Denver!

Saturday night! We’re playing @d3artswestwood with our friends @croko.moko Weapons of Execution, and @carexlessx . Doors are at 5, and we go on at 6. It’s going to be a fun night of indie folk, ambient, and all points in-between. $10. See you there! Here’s “Summer, 1985,” about Sonic Youth and Horsegirl headlining a co-bill on the astral plane, which has become a favorite of ours.

A show! We’re excited to play D3 Arts on Saturday, November 23 with our friends Croko Moko, Weapons of Execution, and Carexlessx. Show is at 6pm and we go on first, so please be on time. This is a sober space, no drugs or alcohol please.
This will be a trio show with Seth, Niki and Barry. We’ve heard great things about D3 Arts, we can’t wait to play there!

Big shout of thanks to everyone who made Sunday such a wonderful afternoon. It was great to play for so many friends and family, and get such great support from the Denver music community! We appreciate you.
A special shout out to all Creek High kids, sorry we didn't play "Come a Little Bug," we'll be sure to do that next time around.
We were blown away by Divingbell's set, if you have not seen them yet, please check them out! And huge thanks to @waxtraxdenver for presenting the show, and Josh, who always makes us sound great. Big thanks to Bang Up To The Elephant for opening up their gorgeous space to us as well. As the former site of the original Mercury Cafe, it was cool to play a space that has also hosted Husker Du, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, and countless other punk legends.
Extra EXTRA special thanks to Ty for guesting with us on pedal steel. You are a magician.
Just a great day. See you soon!
And thanks to Bellhoss for the pics - more sights and sounds from this show (hopefully) soon!

Turns out early October is a big time for us. We sold out Swallow Hill's Cafe before we even had a name at our first ever show, the first week of October in 2019. Last year we took to the Wax Trax sidewalk on a gorgeous afternoon for a show. Wild to think we've been at it this long already!
Add to our Octobers, this Sunday, October 8, we'll be at Bang Up To The Elephant as part of Sundays on Thirteenth presented by Wax Trax Records. Our friend Divingbell plays at 1 and we go on at 2. Let's make some more memories!

This Sunday! We're so excited for our show with Divingbell at Bang Up To The Elephant presented by Wax Trax Denver. We had a ball getting together this weekend with our friend Ty who will guest with us on pedal steel. Divingbell goes on at 1, we go on at 2, hope to see you there!

We cannot overstate how much we appreciate the support of local organizations and businesses. Take for instance, The Denver Folklore Center! They've always had our back and it is always a thrill to see our show posters hanging up in their iconic front window. If you're in Denver and looking for a new instrument, or need your current one spruced up, head on down to the Denver Folklore Center.
And while we're at it, don't forget our next show is on Sunday, October 8 at Bang Up To The Elephant as part of Sundays on Thirteenth presented by Wax Trax Records. Our friend Divingbell plays at 1 and we go on at 2. See you then!

A show! We are thrilled to return to Sundays On 13th presented by Wax Trax Records, when we play Bang Up To The Elephant with our friend DivingBell on Sunday, October 8 from 1-3 pm. This is a free show but donations are appreciated.
This will be a full band show, but Niki’s band, the most excellent @thedollhousethieves has a show at the same time, so we are excited to share that our friend Ty Breuer will be joining us on pedal steel guitar. It’s gonna be a mood.
But wait! There’s more! Thanks to our friend @catherinececil_ for this bomb poster design.
Tell your friends. Bring your grandma. And see you October 8!
