to provide rental side-by-side ATVs 🙌
The initial fleet of five vehicles includes a variety of options that are sized to fit any family or group of riders on their way to creating their own adventure:
RZR XP 1000 – comfortably fits a driver and a single passenger.
RZR XP4 1000 – four-seat model
Xpedition 5 – offers a fully enclosed cab and seats up to five passengers.

Prep work along the Mesabi Trail has many points already opened up for biking. There are still repairs & construction on some portions of the trail, all of which are noted in the "Trail Conditions" portion of their website.
But with the weather finally beginning to break and green popping back into the trees, it is exciting to look forward to summer rides again‼
Something exciting is happening at the Hullrust Mineview in Hibbing 🙌
Volunteers are learning what's happening in the Hibbing Taconite Mine Pit & getting a sneak Peek at the new exhibits developed with help from the Hibbing Historical Society.
Get ready for a grand opening event on May 30th in conjunction with Climb the Mine, a 1.5 mile community hike‼️

The grand opening of @redhead_mtb_park along with their brand new pump track is scheduled for May 29th beginning at noon‼
Cyclists can try out the new features, hit the trails, and enjoy some food trucks 🙌
With the exception of the pump track and trailhead, the park trails are now open, so visitors can absolutely use them prior to the event as well.

While we are still waiting on the official opening date for the gravity trails at @giantsridge the @redhead_mtb_park will open their trails for the season on May 29th along with their new pump track 🙌
Are you ready for MTB season to start back up?
The Minnesota Museum of Mining in Chisholm, MN📍 reopens for the season on Memorial Day 🙌
This hidden gem features a wealth of history and outdoor exhibits that include retired mining equipment that visitors can sometimes climb onto. The indoor portion of the museum also includes a replica underground mining tunnel to explore 😁
The museum hours are from 9am-5pm through Memorial Day (with the exception of Sundays when they open at 1pm)

Trolley tours at @minnesotadiscoverycenter will resume on Saturday, May 23rd 🙌
MDC will be open open Tuesday through Sunday, (starting Saturday, May 23) from 10 am to 5 pm, with extended hours on Thursdays until 8 pm. Admission is free on Thursdays from 4 pm to 8 pm.

The Sax-Zim Bog summer programming is available on their website including dates and details for each field trip & event‼
This pristine and diverse collection of habitats is free to explore on any day, but visitors who are interested in learning more about the species that live in the Sax-Zim Bog should absolutely sign up for one of their guided field trips.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 7! MDC is teaming up with local partners to help families—and their furry friends—stay safe and have fun this summer. ☀️
This free event features hands-on safety stations, friendly experts, and up-close animal encounters. Plus, the Museum, Research Center, Playground, Food Court, and Play Studio will all be open—come explore it all! 🌭
Come learn from our presenters:
🐐 Mr. Ed’s Farm will share insights on caring for farm animals, while promoting compassionate practices rooted in the belief that all living beings have value and deserve respect.
🐈⬛ The Mesabi Humane Society will be bringing adorable kittens and discussing the importance of spaying and neutering to support animal health and reduce overpopulation.
🎣 MN DNR staffers from the Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park will teach folks about fishing safety through interactive games and art projects. Plus, they’ll provide recent information on updates to our state parks!
🐻 Our friends from the North American Bear Center will talk about how to safely enjoy outdoor recreation in bear country, and they’ll share human-bear coexistence strategies and lots of fun facts about black bears!
🎭 And a special grandmother-granddaughter duo on MDC’s Staff will be putting on finger puppet shows about summer safety, geared toward our youngest Iron Rangers!
Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Food Court. Remember: Staying well-fed and well-hydrated is an important part of staying safe in the summer heat! 🍔💦
There's just something about the way ice starts breaking int the spring that's just eerily beautiful. The cracks and striations on the surface & the sound of it as it slowly pops and shifts throughout the day are subtle reminders that summer is not far away.
