Red-001
After a great Design Week in 2025 and inspiration from a number of artists/designers, I had a go at incorporating light elements into my own art.
This piece “Red-001” represents the importance of sustainability in natural resources around human-made fabrications. It consists of mainly up-cycled materials, including hardwood Jarrah sleeper for the base, Colorbond steel off-cuts for the shade and multi-cell polycarbonate samples for the light cover.
It will be showing at “Waste to Wonder”, an art exhibition part of Fringe 2026 focusing on creativity in sustainability.
The exhibition opening is on Sunday Feb 22nd at Pepper Street Arts Centre at 2pm and runs through until March 21st.
