“NEVER STOP DREAMING” A documentary about ancestral painters, in this chapter: Tigua region Cotopaxi-Ecuador. . This project started as a residency art program at @pujinostro in the Andean Mountains, where i recruit few friends who i love to work with, and went on an adventure to find and talk to local artisans about their labour. . . After last year exhibition at @echoandbounce_ my idea got expanded, thinking…why i don’t just learn better about traditional masks, as it’s my culture. Tigua painters for me is a clear example that art can break through anything while make your spirit pump. So, “ Never stop dreaming” is how i bapthised this journey, is the documentary name, but also is a big lesson i got from Julio Toaquiza, ( the first Tigua painter ) that i have the privilege to interview. I want to investigate more, paint more, create more…its a never ending story, i want to see masks around the world, but for know im happy to show to the world this investigation about what masks represent in my life and how cultures are being shaped by such important objects that carries identity. . These are the masks. These are the results of the art residence at @pujinostro I’m so stoked to show u all. It was a truly refreshing experience. Travel to far places, talk to local artisans, collaborate with them and produce something that can go further and beyond countries and limits. . This project will continue growing not only with the documentary “Never stop dreaming” but also expanding it, searching for local artisans now in Australia , to continue the idea of track and revalue ancestral practices. .
