Bike Check: @literal_lee_ ‘s Mystery Rat Track
in highschool I was always tempted to strip the paint off my 80’s bianchi pista because there is something super cool about a well riding bike sporting it’s raw steel frame. Matt’s bike has that look & honestly is a great riding bike with a lot of simple character, weld-booger repaired and all. Thanks Matt

Bikes I miss, pt. 2: Crust Evasion Lite 2022 It was an impressive bike and I felt like I grew alot as a rider on it. Was so stoked on bikes, traveling and riding with friends making my silly videos for crust and being on the ‘team’. During a rough patch when I was both injured + low on dinero with a big vet bill to pay I pawned the wheels to @sulkdad , and since I wasn’t riding at the time and he had just sold his gravel bike we agreed he’d ride it and I could use it whenever and it’s been with him ever since. (Thanks for bailing me out cam 🫶🏼)
I have used it for many rides/events since, and I’m lucky enough to be the same size as one of my closest friends. Glad it’s still in the circle & tied to some great times in my life, forever grateful.
Last photo is how it currently sits.
@bikepackthebay report: past weekend was my third big route event. Busy work and travel the past couple months I was underprepared physically and in thee cabeza. But after a solid 6 hours of sleep and real food I felt great day two and finished a little under 37 hours. also first time riding mostly solo ( @sulkdad caught a mean fever night before) but enjoyed the beaut views and solo time challenge. Thanks @bikepackthebay and other riders who boss’d out.
Bikes I miss (pt.1) : my 2004 Toyo built Rivendell Quickbeam. I bought the frame off Craigslist from the original owner and had it from 2017-2022 before I let @100tacos adopt. One of the bikes that shaped my riding style the most. Before this 75% of my bike history was vintage track bikes + road bikes and so learning to ride dirt on this felt right
Archive offload: in June 2023 Quentin invited me to Yosemite where his family had a camp site and I had a couple free days. We secured half dome lottery permits the night before our last day and figured we should use them. We made good time going up and hurried down when we realized Q forgot our food at camp, a handful of mango jerky and good spirits we got to moving and thanked our legs for their service. All n all a Good time spent in the valley with a perfect go at a hike we had always wanted to do. Sometimes things just happen easy that way.
Also Peep that Sooty Grouse on slide 5 with that subwoofer ass hoot, it carries far in alpine forests (can be heard a quarter mile away). It Sounded mega cool that morning at high elevation. Yep
