I meant to post this on Friday the 13th, but the weekend got the better of me.
A while back I had the pleasure of working with Adrienne King, and she was genuinely one of the most pleasant, grounded people you could hope to share a set with.
At one point I asked her, “You know what my favorite thing about Alice Hardy is — and it's what separates you from a Laurie Strode, for example?”
She looked at me, curious.
I said, “You didn’t need Dr. Loomis to come in and finish the job. You cut Pamela Voorhees’ head off your goddamn self.”
She smiled and said, “You’re damn right.”

Found myself going through my old work from my Miami days, and it really got me thinking, "Why has it taken so long for me to get back in the director's chair?" Truth is, a lot of self-doubt. It's an incredibly deep ocean of talented people who all want the same thing. Plus, getting caught up in the mania of working on set distracted me from my original goal when I moved here.
Don't get me wrong, I love working on set, but the time spent stuck at home during the strike got me back to focusing on myself—confidence, health, career, stuff like that. It ended up with me back to writing, and I forgot how much I missed it. Now, I'm just itching to get back in the director's chair.
Anybody want to make a couple of shorts over the summer? 🎬
