24fps is a cinematic setting we use to capture realistic motion blur. 60fps is used to slow things down ! Which don’t prefer to shoot in?

You want that Netflix and A24 look? • For this setup I built a controlled three light system designed to shape the subject and create dimension against a warm practical background. The key light is an Aputure 300d Mark II pushed through a double diffusion setup to soften the source while maintaining directionality and skin texture. For separation, an Amaran PT2c tube was used as a subtle hair light to define edge detail and lift the subject off the background without overpowering the frame. A secondary Amaran 100d served as the kicker, adding directional contrast and enhancing facial structure from the opposite side. In the background, practical string lights were introduced to add depth layers and a natural ambient glow, reinforcing the warmth of the scene while preventing the background from falling flat. Every light has a job. Nothing is accidental. Comment “NATURA” and I’ll send you the free LUT.

Part two! • See a lot of people believe that a phone can hold up against a cinema camera . maybe in a controlled environment where everything can be right for the phone..but how about in uncontrolled environments? This is where it crumbles #iphone16 #iphone16vscamera

Yeah… Resolve just did something crazy They added a whole Photo page You can now edit photos inside DaVinci Resolve And it’s not basic at all It links straight to the Color page So yes… you can use nodes on photos Same tools we use for film Now on still images RAW support AI masking Tethered shooting Full control This is starting to look like real competition for Adobe Lightroom And the wild part… Resolve is FREE If you want more advanced features, there’s DaVinci Resolve Studio One app doing video, color, audio… and now photos Yeah… this one’s different Save this, you’re gonna see this everywhere soon #filmmaker #photographer

Everybody asks “what camera should I start with” Truth is… most cameras today are already good The real question is Can you actually use it If you want something simple and reliable, go with a camera that has strong autofocus and is easy to learn. That’s going to help you stay consistent instead of getting frustrated If you want that cinematic look, you can go with a cinema camera Just understand you’re trading convenience for control. No shortcuts, you’ll have to actually learn lighting, settings, and color Then there’s the middle ground Cameras that give you solid quality but are still beginner friendly But here’s what matters most The camera doesn’t make you good Knowing how to use it does You can shoot on a basic setup and still get clean footage if you understand lighting, framing, and exposure So don’t get stuck trying to find the “perfect” camera Pick one, learn it, and build from there
