Today hurts more than I can put into words.
Ian Hoyos — better known to so many of us as CHAMP — wasn’t just the owner of Champs Barbers. He was a leader. A mentor. A big brother. A light in the culture.
When I was still figuring it all out, he took me in like a little brother and looked me in the eyes and said, “You got this.” And he meant it. He didn’t just talk — he moved. He put me on platforms I once only dreamed about. Because of him, I found myself alongside brands like Nike and Puma, at major barber expos, and even working with celebrities I film today. He opened doors and made sure I walked through them with confidence.
That’s who CHAMP was. He saw potential before you saw it in yourself. He gave you game. He gave you opportunity. He gave you belief.
I don’t usually post things like this. I stay quiet and keep it pushing. But waking up to this news genuinely broke me. This one really hurt.
My deepest condolences go out to his family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Thank you for everything, CHAMP. I’ll carry what you taught me forever.

Filmed this content last year at the iconic Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok using the Sony ZV-E10 II. This was straight out the box, switched onto S-Log3, with no further settings adjusted keeping it as natural as possible.
I wanted to test the low-light performance and dynamic range of this compact mirrorless travel camera, and even with just some basic colour grading after, the results were impressive. The Sony ZV-E10 II is proving to be a powerful tool for travel filmmaking, YouTube content, vlogging, and creators on the move.
If you’re looking for a lightweight 4K camera with great low-light capability, this one is worth checking out.
