Hello 👋 Thought I’d introduce myself. My name is Michelle (she/they) and I’ve been doing hair for over 10 years. Before starting my hair journey I got an associates degree in Studio Arts. Which means that I’ve taken everything from glass blowing, pottery, oil painting, graphic design, sculpture to drawing. Art is my love and hair has become my medium. Nothing makes me happy more than finding the work of art you’ve been hiding under all that hair. I am part of the LGBTQ+ family and I pride myself on helping everyone through their hair trauma and finding their true selves. I have had my head shaved and grown it out several times, so I understand most haircuts on a personal level. I know how hard it is to trust someone with your hair, but I promise you I am always here to listen and to educate. And I can’t wait to meet you and have you in my chair. Outside of doing hair, I am also the manager at Darling & Dapper and pride myself on making sure all of our employees are happy and healthy. Through amazing teamwork with my boss Liz and our receptionist Kate, we try to make all the stuff in the background run smoothly. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without an amazing love for art, hair and people, and without an amazing salon to continue to help me grow. . . I love when clients are open to trying things that in the long run, will make their haircut last so much longer. I also have a pointy hairline in the back and have struggled with getting a good haircut but then in two weeks I feel like I need everything in the back cut again. Sometimes fighting your cowlick is more work than going with something that compliments it. I absolutely love this haircut and I love being able to personalize cuts for each client.

One year ago I created this amazing work of art. Fiona was an amazing model, this took TWO DAYS! One for lightening and one for color application. Pastels like this are hard to maintain so I rarely do them for clients. Cold water is a MUST, salon quality products, and little to no heat on the hair. Before starting our process I let Fiona pick color inspirations and she told me she loves the colors in a fire opal stone but she wanted a bright pink money piece. Do yall think we achieved?

Yall know I love a good green and this has to be one of my favorites yet.🥝 Why be basic and typical when you can be unique and custom? 🐛 Incase you didn’t know, I LOVE making custom hues for my clients so they can feel like it’s THEIR haircolor. 🐍

🦊🗣️💃🏻🪩 From green to blue to ORANGE 😬 in order to achieve this, my client came in a few weeks before so I could begin color shifting the blue. We did an orange glaze all over to try to mute out the bright blue tones and then I told her to wash her hair with hot water to really help get that color out. This is important for any vivid client who wants to color shift. I love that my clients take care of their hair, but if you want to change tone and it’s still vivid, I recommend washing more often and using hotter water to help really bleed that color out so it’s less bright. When she came in for her actual appointment, there was much less blue that I had to remove with color remover and it was so much easier to get this vibrant, bright color. I put a little extra red into this color to really help cover up any bluish green tones left over and I love how it turned out. 🔥

The more I look the more I can’t look away 😍 We always have fun with Jennifer’s hair. She just lets me do whatever I want and this time I wanted to change up the placement we’ve been doing. This was only done with three colors! Blending colors on the hair to make inbetween tones is always fun and I’m obsessing with the results.

Eva always has the coolest hair. I love doing so many different variations of her bangs and mullet. Who says you can’t have long, swoopy bangs and a shaved side? We always style with Gold products. Whether it’s a texturizing spray wax, fairy dust or clay wax we get it done and messy 🤘

Feeling spooky? Well nothing to spookier than making your bangs look like vampire fangs🧛🏻‍♀️ This was my first time doing this client’s hair, and during the consultation she told me she wanted fang bangs. This was something I had never heard of, but I’m pretty sure I had seen before so I had her describe what she wanted and I was so excited. If you know me, you know I love a fun and funky mullet and doing little customizations for everyone so they feel it is unique to them. She already had this haircut but I slightly tweaked it to give her the edge she wanted. We also refreshed her dark forest green and I love green so this was super fun all around.
