Zone 10 2025 Show Archive Train approaching… One through nine, which way? Inner to outer, internal and external. We come together from everywhere but London. Delving underground, into the substrata of an ancient city. Compartmentalized zones of travel within this realm; broken apart just to be rejoined in zone 10. Just passin’ through - a nether Zone - one compiled precariously, but steadfast in its lightness, upon the transitive axis of our time within/without. Impermanent marks left on a piled pavement. Pushed underground only to sprout up again, somewhere else. We are not welcome in one thru nine, but rails rode raw to the end of the line: Zone 10. Wiping the sweat of work away,  this cloth is cut from one neverending, a banner heralding the opening of the ending - beginning at  Zone 10.  Doors closing Whrrrrrrrrr 🎨Artists: @ankita_kashyap.art @art.becky_tong @fionamorehouse @studiokaggwa @mono.chaotic @mildewkellison @dingos_art @levinstettlerbrogli @shahnumair @yoyojinxx @ani_syu @junghunlee_ Location: Annex by The Koppel Project, 1 Tiverton Street, Elephant and Castle, London, SE1 6NT @the_koppel_project Time: 12 - 16 August 2025 #art #london #londonart #royalcollegeofart #rca

Introducing Parker Greenwood. “In my work I use visual metaphors to connect to my home state of Louisiana, and birthplace – New Orleans. My drawings comment on pressing issues that face the Gulf Coast including the degradation of the marshland. My abstract mark making represents a landscape which hopes to conjure apprehension. Ever shifting, the landscape ebbs and flows between natural forms, habitats and industrial, mechanized areas. The space’s ecological fragility draws a parallel to the Gulf Coast region. The mark making rises and falls across the page, recalling the rise and fall of the wings of the Brown Pelican, the state bird of Louisiana. A visual motif across the body of work, the pelican acts as a mythological harbinger of time. My current practice exists between two connected series. Pelican in Her Piety explores the perception of landscape using ink on paper. Devotions of Piety is a further study of the landscape on ceramic vessels.”

It’s just around the corner! Tomorrow is the private viewing for RCA 2025 as the show will run through this weekend. If you’re in London come to the @royalcollegeofart at the Battersea campus. If you’re not in London, reach out to your friends that are and tell them about it. The show runs June 19-22 from 12 - 6 PM everyday, with extended hours on Friday night running until 8 PM. My classmates in the Arts and Humanities MFA program will be showing on the 1st floor of the Studio Building. I will have my work up in the Hangar Space Mezzanine, although our program is also showing work in the 3 adjacent rooms! @rca_mfa_ah Thank you to my friend @ani_syu for taking some great photos of my install on Saturday!

A piece that I’m working on. Any thoughts on what feels unresolved? I am trying to expand my mark making practice and find a new understanding of how I use it. Ink on paper. The work is on A2 paper. . #ink #paper #calligraphy #blackink #drawing #drawings #negativespace #lines #markmaking #inkonpaper #workonpaper #artonpaper #abstract

In progress photos of my pots. This is one of my tests for the underglazes I have. Excited about this fresh exploration of mark-making and fumbling around on the wheel trying make pots. It’s been really nice to listen to music and throw and trim pots. The music feels as though it syncs up and the vessel you’re working on becomes like a record player. Please send music recommendations for things to listen to while on the wheel. . #ceramics #markmaking #patterns #pelican #louisiana #clay #vessel #abstract #motion #movement #red #blackandred #brush #birds

I know I haven’t updated in a while. Life in London lately has left me lost for time leaving little room to lose more time lethargically lallygagging liminal leaflets left as leftovers of moments mislaid. That is to say I’ve been busy, but I miss those I don’t see these days. My friends and I decided to head to Soho tonight for some fried chicken. The three of us really like this fried chicken. It seems then like now is a good time to share part of a work in progress. Life doesn’t seem to be slowing down and arguably I might need to speed up. Still, working mostly in ink painting recently it felts like a good time to circle back to the style that I cultivated when first falling in love with ink. I hope you find it interesting. I myself have felt inspired by the drive and tenacity of people that I keep meeting. People looking to uplift each other, as we are all artists participating in this strange and silly dance of life. Things aren’t perfect, but a lot of things are really good. The pocket is inside of your pants, but if you pull on it the pocket is outside of your pants. Thankful for this perspective. . #ink #inkdrawing #artist #royalcollegeofart #inkart #paper #artonpaper #inkonpaper #animals #art #animalart #deathgrips #optimism #puppies #bunny #sad #happy #dubstep #noise #london #neworleans #parker #spiderman #soho #friedchicken

On August 19th I will be leaving New Orleans to attend the Royal College of Art in London for a year to get a Master of Fine Arts. With this in mind it feels like a good time to write an update on my life. Last year I stepped away from the glass scene in New Orleans because frankly the last place I worked was horrible. I have no hesitation in saying so. I went on to work a terrible job at a PJs coffee shop. Eventually I found a job as a server at Midway Pizza and my last day at the coffee shop ended up being my first day at the restaurant. Since then I have fallen into a community of people and could not be happier with how my life has been since November. Where I felt like an island for the past few years in the city, now I feel like a part of a larger whole. I’m surrounded by a great deal of love and support, with my friends sometimes hyping me up enough to the point where I get embarrassed. I hate to leave them, but I love that they hate to see me leave. I think to a particular moment in which I beat one of my friends in Shuffleboard. I land my shot and I hear him say “shit!” I look over to him as he gives me this frustrated expression. “Goddamn I can’t believe you’re leaving.” When in the midst of losing a game your friends can look to you and express gratitude for your existence, that’s a real special feeling. Thank you for that Frenchy. Pictured here are many of the friends I have made at the Kingpin. Of course I couldn’t stop myself from including some of my photos from nights when I won the Monday Night Shuffleboard Tournament along with photos of some of my friends on nights when they won. If you’ve read this far and would like to see me before I leave town, please reach out. I’ll be pretty busy, but I will try to make time regardless. Long live Monday Night Shuffleboard!

Done on a sheet of heavyweight watercolor paper, I hand ground my new black ink for this piece. I had been waiting for the right day to attempt this, however, it did not seem to rain all summer long in New Orleans. One day I woke up to it was a rainy day. I setup a table outside under a covered space and began to lay down my ink. Once a number of hold marks were on the page, I carried the large sheet out into the yard and laid it in the grass. I looked to the rain to help in the collaboration with nature one more time before finishing this particular work, ultimately placing it in the rain twice. It was quite exciting and while it certainly can’t work for all types of work, I see these pieces existing in their own new realm within my body of work as a whole. Uplift the real-life people in your real-life life. You see them all the time. Be nice. Be patient. Be a friend to your friends. Happy Halloween! . #ink #october #inktober #blackink #sumi #paper #rain #nature #inkart #inkartist #artonpaper #artist #art #halloween #gray #black #water #face #faces #abstract #abstractart

While I didn’t intend to make a bowling themed piece, as I put down some shapes and figures the color palette felt like bowling pins in a bowling alley. Then before I knew it the headdress from Gutterballs was already on the page and my fate was sealed. I wrapped up the piece and I think this would be a crazy design on the bottom of a skateboard or something. A whole series of bowling monsters. I drew this thinking about the doodles I did on the side of my notes in school. Quick cartoonish characters living in worlds of repetition and pattern. I was often obsessed with not allowing the lines within the patterns to touch. I don’t care as much now but the principle still guides my hand. This piece was done in red and blue ball point pen. . #monster #graphic #bowling #thebiglebowski #thedude #gutterball #bowlingalley #bowlingart #monsterart #cartoon #redandblue #ballpointpen #ballpointpenart #pentel #pilotpen #dragon #lizard #tongue #strike #doodle #artistsoninstagram #red #blue

Photos documenting my piece “A Study of a Screaming Pope.” This piece was done on a day when I wasn’t sure what to make. I was thinking of how classical painters looked to the compositions and subjects of other previous masters. I decided to do much the same except I wondered what it would look like to represent Francis Bacon’s screaming popes in ink. Most important to me was capturing the faceless feeling of the screaming pope. The agony outwardly expressed in all directions, contained in a box. This piece is another one that was made a while back. I rephotographed it recently to capture the details better. . #ink #photo #pain #scream #pope #screaming #smudge #negative #negativespace #blackink #blackandwhite #box #court #trial #rat #lights #ethereal #liminalspace #confinement #repetition #blur #artist #artistsoninstagram #inkartist #inkart #calligraphy #cat #catsofinstagram #cats #francisbacon
