dnd_EM25205_8005 ieon — 얼음은 ice is We are proud to present ‘ 얼음은 ice is,’ the new IDM EP from ieon — one of the most striking young producers to emerge within the dingn\dents orbit. Across four concise tracks, ‘얼음은 ice is’ unfolds with a clarity that feels almost weightless. Micro-percussive gestures, fine-grained noise textures, and drifting harmonic fragments are arranged with precision and restraint. The result is a sound world that is classic in its IDM lineage, yet unmistakably contemporary in touch—light, unforced, and free of nostalgia’s heaviness. Where many chase density, ieon pursues surface tension: the fragile threshold where form holds together just long enough to be recognized, before dissolving again. This is IDM as minimal event, not architecture—something that appears, shifts, and slips away. Listen quietly. Or loud enough that the ice begins to shift. ieon says, Ice is cold. Because ice always maintains a temperature at or below 0°C (32°F), it feels cold in any environment as this is much lower than our body temperature. Ice is slippery. A microscopic layer of water on its surface makes ice slippery. Ice is versatile. It can be created with only low temperatures and moisture. Ice melts. When the temperature rises above 0°C (32°F), the molecular movement in ice becomes more active, causing its crystal structure to break down and transform into a liquid. Ice is always with us. Avraham Kober – D ORDR We’re thrilled to announce the release of Avraham Kober’s debut full-length album, D ORDR — out now via dn\d. D ORDR is a debut of rare intensity: synthetic music that feels grown, not made. Avraham conjures strange, breathing ecosystems out of pure synthesis—buzzing, bowed, distorted, and alive. This isn’t just music to hear—it’s music to imagine. The album features evocative cover art by our dear friend and label companion Grischa Lichtenberger, and opens with a heartfelt, luminous preface by the incredible Amit Dagim. We hope you enjoy this extraordinary record and allow yourself to drift deep into its pseudo-acoustic world. To understand the logic and idiosyncrasies of D ORDR, it may be useful to look into the origins of its creator, Avraham Kober. … Avraham creates some of the most life-like musical images through synthesis, but they are never naturalistic. They are always more than simply realistic. They go further, into physically impossible regions, sometimes into abstractions, while their source remains hidden, occulted. Due to their synthetic origin, they inherently allow these (im)possibilities, these new colors. For me, as a listener, notwithstanding my familiarity with his music, at times I experience a sort of a “perceptual shift” in my mind, where I am hanging between impressions known and unknown, familiar and uncanny. Ultimately, the entities inhabiting his pieces, his environments, seem to compose the truly fictional, surreal, acoustically-inspired electronic music that synthesis asks us to make from the possibilities it affords. A new type of highly acousmatic music. A treatise on his approach to rhythm should be written in the future. … (The full text is available on dindndents’ Bandcamp page.) dnd_EM25203_8003   Damirat - Curostenn We’re beyond thrilled to present ‘Curostenn,’ the long-awaited full-length album from dingn\dents’ heavyweight duo Damirat! A collection of 12 unreleased tracks—both old and new—Curostenn traces Damirat’s archeological path of sonic exploration. This record navigates the duo’s unique sense of sonic temporality and non-deterministic structure, where sound unfolds as an open, ever-shifting event—never fixed, always becoming. Listen loud, and let it disappear. DAMIRAT’s Sonic Temporality and Indeterminate Structures | The Aesthetics of Emergence … Sonic composition is, by nature, indeterminate. Unlike traditional composition, which follows a predetermined structure along a temporal axis, generative approaches to sound resist fixed meanings or directions. Sound emerges dynamically, shaped through its interaction with surrounding environments. It exists not within a closed system, but as an event within an open flow. … Thus, the experience of sound remains an indeterminate, multi-dimensional event—one that cannot be fully captured by any singular theoretical framework or traditional form of analysis. Though it may be shaped or structured, it can never be fully completed or resolved. In an open system, sound is constantly regenerated with each act of listening—and just as quickly, it vanishes. Within this ongoing cycle of emergence and dissolution, we do not simply listen to sound—we experience its flow. From FNST_Session (The full text is available on dindndents’ Bandcamp page.) dnd_EM25202_8002   Yoosin Kim - sDauurem Happy to announce the release of sDauurem, the long-awaited full-length album from dindn\dents affiliate Yoosin Kim! Deeply inspired by Korean traditional music and the spirit of free jazz, Yoosin Kim explores the depths of physical modeling synthesis, crafting dense, resonant sonic textures that echo the tonal waves of traditional Korean wind instruments. Hope you enjoy the weighty, immersive sound of this mesmerizing album as much as we did! sDauurem (Dasreum) The album title, sDauurem (Dasreum), comes from a term in traditional Korean music (gugak). It refers to a short introductory piece played before the main composition to establish tempo and breathing. Since many of the sounds in this album serve a similar purpose—setting the tone and flow—I chose Dasreum as its title. Beginnings I’ve been making electronic music for over a decade, but I’ve always had a deep yearning for jazz. While improvisation in electronic music has helped satisfy that desire, my ultimate goal has been to engage in live instrumental improvisation. However, since my ability to play traditional instruments is limited, I needed an alternative approach. This album was born from my attempt to fulfill that longing within the realm of electronic music in a way that felt true to me. … Max Devereaux – Live at Café Flying Teapot, Tokyo Kicking Off 2025 with a special release! We’re thrilled to announce a remarkable free jazz/experimental improvisation live recording by new dingn\dents artist Max Devereaux! Born in Milwaukee, WI, and currently based in San Diego, CA, Max is not only a musician but also a filmmaker and visual artist, shaping incerdibly diverse and multidisciplinary body of work. This exceptional live album captures a performance at Tokyo’s Café Flying Teapot on September 29, 2024, featuring the multi-talented Max Devereaux on guitar, alongside two outstanding Japanese artists—Naoyasu Takahashi on bass and Arata Ogawa on drums. Their chemistry sparks a powerful yet fluid synergy, creating an immersive and unforgettable listening experience. We hope everyone enjoy this mesmerizing and dynamic live recording! 1. Live at Cafe Flying Teapot, Tokyo Part 1 (Feat. Naoyasu Takahashi) 2. Live at Cafe Flying Teapot, Tokyo Part 2 (Feat. Arata Ogawa) 3. Live at Cafe Flying Teapot, Tokyo Part 3 (Feat. Arata Ogawa & Naoyasu Takahashi) Max Devereaux - Guitar Naoyasu Takahashi - Bass Arata Ogawa - Drums Recorded at Cafe Flying Teapot, Ekoda, Tokyo September 29, 2024 Special thanks to Shigeru Meguro … The live performance’s structure—and subsequently the album’s final structure—featured two duo sets followed by a single set with all the performers. This last-minute suggestion to conduct the evening in this manner was made by Takahashi. It proved to be a brilliant way to represent the different configurations the musicians had previously explored on past releases. This recording is more than just a document of a single performance—it is a snapshot of spontaneity, artistic convergence, and the beginning of a bold first step into Japan. Devereaux was often heard saying, "When I arrived in Japan, it felt like I had finally woken up from a bad dream." (The full text is available on dindndents’ Bandcamp page.)
