29 years in this business that has given life to the dreams I made for my family, I close my eyes and think about the countless moments I have been made to wait for my turn to shine, times I have had to work harder than most to get to where we are now, to never have to compromise my values, the uniqueness of my journey, I asked, why did I have to go through all that? @nyuniversity the answer came. To share all that I learned from the 29 years to pave way for the new ones to understand that this job is more complex and challenging than it may seem on the facade. It takes grit, patience, determination and a deep sense of purpose. The ability to work with what is given to you, to make those opportunities grow into a meaningful journey while not losing your true self, and to have the openness and humility to know that we won’t all have what we want and need always, and while we wait for our turn to shine, we can LEARN.
