A year in the making! I started research on this piece back in May of ‘25. With help from @thisblue and @joedonnellywrites it landed at Red Canary Magazine and went live this week.
Cover photo is from Zoë Zilz’s research, but here’re some BTS shots I captured on iPhone and 35mm.
It has been fun and strange to continue growing as a writer, and surreal to do it under Joe’s guidance after becoming a fan of his work upon reading his anthology L.A. Man way back in 2018.
Follow your dreams, kids! Link in bio.
Among the coolest things I’ve gotten to do for The Inertia is accompany a team of divers on a cleanup mission to a 20 year old shipwreck. Laura came too! Here’s some BTS footage, mostly shot by Arena’s Jack Spitser.
Link in bio for the piece I wrote around it, published last month!
Here’s an illustration I did for The Inertia for a listicle I wrote last year on ski and snow games. Originally had DK shredding up top but the blue dude made more sense. Always sneakin’ cartoons in where I can! Swipe for close-up deetzz.
Wahoo! I’ve been writing for The Inertia for just over a year, now! Here’s a fun collection of headlines for stories, articles, and listicles I’ve gotten to work on over the past year. Starting up a freelance writing career alongside my design & illustration work was a welcome, unexpected turn in my life. But becoming a published writer is something I’ve fantasized about since my brother rented a copy of Almost Famous from Blockbuster. Dropping a link to my work in my bio, it’d mean the world to me if you read some of it.
