I’ll admit, I’ve had a bit of an identity crisis over the past few years of my career.
I do both photography and videography. Sometimes my video work could be classified as “film,” and sometimes not.
I do both commercial work and documentary work. Sometimes I’m part of a team. Other times it’s just me.
All of this is to say that I’m a bit all over the place 😅. Am I a photographer? A videographer? A director of photography? Should I throw the word “commercial” into my title? Do I even need a title?
I don’t really know the answers to these questions. But the one thing I do know is that my favorite avenue to create in has always been projects that focus on real people doing real things.
And the people and moments you’ll see in my documentary demo reel are just that. Real people. Real things. Unscripted moments that really matter.
I would love to hear what you think of this short edit! And to anyone who is needing a lens based artist (maybe that’s my title?) for a documentary style project, I’m your guy!
Lastly, thank you to everyone who is featured in, or was a part of the production of this demo reel! My work quite literally couldn’t exist without the people in my community and I’m eternally grateful for those around me for continuing to allow me to do what I do.
My 2026 Demo Reel is (finally) here! It’s got a lot of new work from the past year and a half or so, as well as tons of old work from years past!
I might be in a camp of one with this opinion, but I genuinely love updating my reel. It’s a long and exhausting process, but is such a fun way to look back on all of the awesome projects I’ve been fortunate enough to work on and to celebrate all of the amazing people I’ve gotten to work with!
To everyone who either appears in these clips, or helped make them happen behind the scenes, you have my utmost gratitude. That I get to create art like this for a living is something I will never take for granted.
Here’s to creating more projects like this for the rest of 2026!
Grading docu-style projects is always such a fun challenge.
Because on one end, you want the footage to feel stylized and polished and unique.
But on the other end you want the footage to feel real and grounded to stick with the documentary feel to the overall piece.
I tried to do a blend between the two styles for this particular piece and am pretty happy with how it came out!

I know that most people don’t want to sit and watch a 3 minute video on IG.
Which, of course, is a bit of a bummer
But! It means I get to experiment with new and fun ways to show off my work. Like these clips from a recent branded mini-doc project!

Today’s post is brought to you by the power of teamwork!
No, really, It is.
I talk about it in the video, but during the @thornsfc home opener a few weeks ago, I got to roam around the stands capturing all of the fun crowd moments you see here.
And the only reason I got to do that was because we had @matthewmontoya_ and @brettroberts covering all the game action. Meaning, through the ✨power of teamwork✨, we were able to document the vibe of the whole stadium in its entirety. Which I think is really cool.
