It’s not everyday you photograph someone you share a face with 📸 Here’s the BTS from my most recent shoot with my sister. She wanted classic 1940s pin-up girl vibes for her 31st, and here’s how it went down! Make sure you check out the history of pin-up girls too, especially Black pin-up girls 💡 Big shoutout to the staff at @blondiephilly for being super helpful and accommodating 🫶🏼 I edited the final collage to feel like photos pinned up on a wall for that nostalgic touch. What do you think, did we pull it off? 👀 💿🎵 by @slowdatsht

Bro, I had an amazing, inspiring, and cataclysmically creative time at @pola.con 🎞️ PolaCon NYC returned for its third year, uniting instant film lovers from around the world for a three-day celebration of creativity. From hands-on workshops to community hangouts and photo walks, it was nonstop magic. Here are 5 things I loved about the weekend—hope to see you there next year! 🫶🏼 🎞️ cover photo by @crownandflintphoto

About a year ago, I bought art supplies to explore cutting and collaging. While I wasn’t entirely sure what I was doing, it opened up new creative possibilities for me. This random creative urge arose from feeling that photos and videos weren’t enough anymore—and that’s okay; I just wanted more. This untitled piece is dedicated to @essence magazine. Thank you for being a premier lifestyle, fashion, and beauty magazine for Black women 🫶🏼. My mom gave these to me, and I knew I had to create something special 📖 This collage is mostly made from Essence magazine issues between 2018 and 2022. Ever feel like you want to change or pursue additional artistic mediums? 🖌️

As #BlackHistoryMonth2024 is under way, I had the privilege of being able to photograph @hinadirah for the release of her debut book, FIRST THINGS FIRST 🥇 If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, go to the link in her bio to purchase and read up about the women in hip hop who changed the genre as we know it! My colleague @evi3fbabyy wrote the story for the @rutgersu publication, Rutgers Today. To read more, click the link in bio ℹ️

In 2023, I produced a universitywide Black History Month campaign for @rutgersu with the help of @evi3fbabyy , and later on went to win a GOLD Telly award 🏆 @tellyawards I call this project, #WhatRUMadeOf 💭🗣️ This series of video portraits aims to showcase the diverse experiences and background of Black students at Rutgers University. In around 60 seconds, each of these students inform you on what about their cultures have made them who they are, the people who pass the culture on to them, and what it means to be Black at all. These are their stories, enjoy perspectives from the following participants: ➡️ Dylan Poku ➡️ Tiffany Bennett ➡️ Jacob Ajayi ➡️ Lilian Agu ➡️ Shayla McQueen ➡️ DeVonna Brockman

I been scared to talk to you guys but we’re in the spirit of trying new things so far! I’m also trying to get into the habit of calling myself an artist 🗣️ I made this to showcase some new hobbies, ideas, and some behind the scenes thinking behind my latest project, “I SMOKED ON TRUTH AND FOUND IT IN MYSELF” 🚬 Question for creatives, when do you feel like it’s time to change your approach to making stuff? Ever feel like it’s just not enough? Lmk 📲

In honor of me starting a new chapter as a Social Media Manager, here’s a throwback to a project that meant a lot to me this year. For #HispanicHeritageMonth, I presented a project called “Talk the Talk: A Conversation on Language,” where we interviewed members of the overall @rutgersu community about their relationship to language, identity and community. This project was born out of me not having the best relationship with speaking Spanish. I made it a point to create through this feeling. Watch these perspectives, I wasn’t alone 🫶🏼 In order: ▶️ Bianca Caproni ▶️ Raven Diaz ▶️ Logan Pineda ▶️ Samantha Carhuaricra 📽️ produced by me
