The solos I hear in my head are guitar solos, and by the time I've reached for them they're mostly gone. I can't play them on guitar anyway, so I spend time translating what I half-remember onto a synth with the right bends, the right attack, the right noise floor. Most of it doesn't survive the trip. Crap.
