Born in Fiji, raised in New Zealand, and formed musically in the dance music revolution of London in the late ’90s and early Y2Ks, @freqnasty started his career on the seminal UK Breaks & Bass label Botchit & Scarper, where he released the classic breaks album ‘FreQs Geeks and Mutilations’ in 1999 and his first international hit ‘Boomin’ Back Atcha’featuring UK Hip Hop MC and MOBO award winner Phoebe One.
Soon after its release, he signed to SKINT/Sony Records alongside Fatboy Slim, Dave Clarke, and X-Press 2. Over the coming years, he went on to release a slew of cutting-edge Breaks and Breakbeat Garage records, collaborating with &/or remixing Fatboy Slim, Kelis, Santigold, Bassnectar, KRS One, Roots Manuva, Rodney P, and Reggae legend Junior Delgado and becoming a fixture of the global Electronic Music scene.
2008 saw the release of both ‘Creator’, a collab with MIA producer Switch and Brooklyn vocalist Santigold that launched Santigold’s career, and soon after, he unveiled his FABRICLIVE 42 mix CD (DJ Mag’s‘ compilation of the month’), released on legendary London nightclub Fabric’s label. FreQ held a multi-year DJ residency at Fabric whilst also becoming one of Burning Man festival’s most loved DJs, and his signature Bass-heavy sets have been a pilgrimage for fans of the legendary Nevada desert festival for years.

We're stoked to welcome back Static Structures to the Diffraction stage this weekend supporting FreQ Nasty!
@static_structures_official hails from Glasgow and resides in Townsville, Australia. Part of the TSV DNB crew. Glasgow was where he was introduced to the early underground Electro, Hip Hop, Hardcore, and Jungle scenes in the first part of the 1990’s. This laid the foundations for a lifetime obsession with music production and sound system culture.
He gained international attention with his 2016 Album Infra Strux with several EP's and remixes to follow. His most recent release on Meditator Records shared a 12" with Lavery and Ontology with Continued support around the globe from the likes of DJ Trace, Etch, Weighty Jungle and Dev/Null to name a few.

@priorself is the alias of Gurrumbilbarra/Townsville-based producer and DJ, formerly known as Lithe. Under both projects, his work has been defined by a careful balance of precision and unpredictability, carving out space between propulsive club music and abstract experimentation.
With a formative background as a drummer, his approach to rhythm remains central, using intricate and unconventional percussion to push the boundaries of techno, bass, and hybrid club sounds.
As the first release under Prior Self, it laid the foundation for launching a record label (home away from home) and set the course for the next chapter of his artistic evolution.
Now operating both as an artist and label head, Prior Self is focused on expanding @hafh.online as a DIY, artist-first platform that prioritises sustainable methods of building community and artist ownership over platforms and distribution.

A multifaceted performer in aerial acrobatics, circus arts and fire dance, her passion for collaboration and creativity has brought her skills to large-scale fire productions, circus shows, cabarets and festivals right along the Queensland coast.
Kara has joined with some of the best performers in North Queensland in fire troupes including The Fireflyz, Woodenbong Fire Tribe and Alabanza. She is the founder and creative director of Hoopnosis and The Enigma Fire Crew, she is best known for her enchanting costumes, intense physicality, and unique hula hoop flow. Incorporating fire props and fluid style with world-class beats, she creates an immersive performance experience.

Erb - Zenon Records is the alter ego of Jacob McMillan, resident member of the Far North Queensland collective, and co-director of Rootbound Festival.
His passion and dedication to the alternative, psychedelic culture has not gone unnoticed. Being involved in the production of some of the region’s most memorable gatherings in the past decade, he has cemented his place as one of FNQ’s most active promotors and DJs.
‘Erb’s sets are never one in the same, tailoring each one for the occasion and adapting the flow and style when necessary. Sometimes heavy, dark, and twisted; sometimes light, flowing, and beautiful, often journeying between.
