🎸 Introducing: MILL Music Spotlight! 🎸
To kick off our weekly MILL Music Spotlight, we’re featuring a non-local band with a deep connection to DIFA—Avenged Sevenfold. While this week’s spotlight highlights a band from beyond our community, upcoming features will focus on the local artists and bands making an impact closer to home.
Aaron’s love for Avenged Sevenfold stemmed from his admiration of drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. He was captivated by Jimmy’s unique drumming style and the energy he brought to the band. Although Jimmy passed away in 2009, Aaron had the opportunity to see Avenged Sevenfold live in 2011, an experience he cherished deeply. Even more fitting, the band recorded their own version of "Wish You Were Here", a song that Willy and Austin Stevenson have always used to honor Aaron.
🔥 About Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) 🔥
Formed in 1999 in Huntington Beach, California, Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) rose to fame with their unique blend of heavy metal, hard rock, and progressive elements. They broke into the mainstream with albums like City of Evil and Nightmare, known for their hard-hitting riffs, dramatic imagery, and unforgettable live performances.
Despite the tragic loss of Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan in 2009, the band carried on, honoring his legacy with Nightmare, their first Billboard #1 album. Over the years, they’ve evolved their sound—from metalcore roots to progressive experimentation—continuing to push boundaries in the genre.
With eight studio albums, sold-out world tours, and a devoted fanbase, A7X has cemented themselves as one of the most influential modern metal bands.
🎶 Must-listen tracks: Bat Country, Hail to the King, Nightmare, Afterlife, The Stage

Aaron’s M.I.L.L would not be able to function as a local, not for profit organization without the amazing support from Hailie Jack and the team @unitedwaylg ! 💙 🙏 Here’s a #throwback to the United Way’s donation of $7,500 at our grand reopening back in May.
We’re thrilled to invite you to the grand re-opening of Aaron’s Musical Instrument Lending Library next Thursday, May 30th at 125 Stewart Blvd (inside @stingers_indoor_paintball )❗️🎉🎵
Guest speaker to the Rotary Club of the 1000 Islands was DIFA (Do It For Aaron) Foundation chair Willy Stevenson, (left) spoke about Aaron’s M.I.L.L. (Musical Instruments Lending Library) that he started.
Willy explained that Aaron’s M.I.L.L. lends musical instruments with no rental fee, to all ages.
Shown, presenting The Lunch Club book to Willy, is Rotarian Rene Tyo. This book will be given to the Maynard Public School Library in Willy’s name.
On Wednesday, March 13th, a cheque for $2,000 was presented to Aaron’s M.I.L.L. (musical instrument lending library) founder, Willy Stevenson (right) by Rotary Club of the 1000 Islands members Larry Journal and Dave Paul. Willy is well known in the local music scene and through the DIFA (Do It For Aaron) Foundation, the lending library was set up, in memory of his son, Aaron. This Library is free to all ages with hundreds of instruments available to people. Donated quality instruments are always welcome.
Located in Stingers at the old Brockville Shopping Centre, Aaron’s M.I.L.L. is a safe place to learn, play or just jam with other like-minded people. Currently, Willy works with schools, mental health organizations and the YMCA of Eastern Ontario to give children an opportunity to learn what music can offer.
The most popular instrument at Aaron’s M.I.L.L. is the guitar, followed closely by keyboards and drums.
Hi everyone, we are currently in the process of gathering inventory and making other updates to the organization.

Happy Monday 😊
Good afternoon everybody, it is with a very heavy heart that we must announce the closing of Aaron's M.I.L.L. for the month long stay at home order. We won't be able to do our livestreams or have anyone in the mill. This does not sit well with me as we have not had one case and have been following all the guidelines. I feel bad for you all that watch our streams and enjoy the love and fun we try to project. I mostly feel bad for the ones with disabilities and mental health issues that we serve on a day to day basis to try and make their lives enriched through the power of music. I implore you all that use our facility, and even the ones that don't, to keep on playing at home and don't let these times get you down. We are still here and available for anyone that might need a little positive reinforcement. My number is 613-803-8766. We are in this together and together, we will be strong. As far as I know, I can do online lessons and they are free, so if I can help you all in any way, please don't hesitate. It doesn't have to be about music for you to call. If you need a friend, or to vent, just give it to us. We love you all and will do whatever is in our power to help judgement free. Bless you all. - Willy
