Tonight, legendary guitarist Peter Bernstein will perform with the Jazz Orchestras of the Butler School of Music. Praised by The New York Times for his fluid improvisation and beautiful sound, and by Jazziz for his warm, muscular tone reminiscent of Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, and Kenny Burrell, Bernstein is widely regarded as one of today’s leading jazz guitarists.
In rehearsals, Bernstein worked closely with conductor Diego Rivera and the student musicians, fostering a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.

The University of Texas Jazz Orchestra and UT “Blue Note” Combo performed magnificently this weekend at the National Collegiate Jazz Championship in New York City at Jazz at Lincoln Center. They competed with 10 of the top college jazz programs in the country. Several of the students were recognized for their exceptional musicianship. It was an honor to perform at the prestigious Frederick P. Rose Hall and created a memorable experience for our students. Congratulations!!!
