Here we go. Yearning for Turning XI premiering next week in Laax - online release soon after. I remember watching Sunokeru for the first time, immediately putting it on repeat. A lot happened in life between that point and now. Forever grateful for the opportunity to join the team in Tahoe last winter to shoot YFT Vol.11 and cap off their 10th anniversary. Wish I could make it to Laax; it'll be an amazing night! • @korua_shapes #KoruaShapes #MadeForTurning #snowboarding • @nicholaswolken @lars__p @spencerobrien @aari_howarth @leohoorn____ @dicksflicks @elle.eee.el

decided to stick my head underwater this year. here's a little recap of some of the highlights from one of the best decisions I've ever made. I truly appreciate the guidance and advice from @susthorne , @bigizlandryan , and @morganmaassen who gave me guidance and advice as I explored freediving and surf cinematography. Looking forward to (hopefully) a lot more of this in 2025 and the release of my first surf project alongside @missteahupoo

Mixed precip at Mt. Baker with @jonnycolors and co. - Story behind this one👇 I’ve been sitting on an idea to shoot a roll of medium format film in a day @themtbakerskiarea and go home, develop it that night, and then it’s online the next day. This was inspired by the process of shooting photos for Mt. Baker; same workflow but digital. A 645 only has 15 frames on a roll, so it was a question of, “How do we depict a day in only 15 frames?” That was a cool structure for shooting, making sure we balanced action with other moments in between. And it was so hard. Translating the image in my brain through lens choices, angles, metering, and developing turned out to be mad overwhelming, especially shooting action in snow and rain. Could’ve used 20 minutes to set up each shot but we didn’t have that. To make the hard even harder , this was my first time developing film at home. Whole other crazy wormhole. Psyched on what we got. It’s still a ways off from the vision but we’ll get there. One day I’d love to have the “Roll in a Day” concept live in print somewhere, but an IG carousel will do for now. Thanks @jonnycolors , @therealwillmeade , and @ian__and for being down to be a part of this 🤝 certified rippers. Shot on Ilford D3200 and Kent 400

One-off cyanotype shirt for @fredagainagainagainagainagain USB002 stop at Cow Palace in SF. Incredible album photo is by @theobatterham Been getting into cyanotyping clothing and fabric recently, and this was my first go at it. Ran a bunch of exposure tests and then made a pair of shirts for myself and Huggy to wear to the show. Almost 10 years ago we drove 12 hours to NYC with a couple other close friends to try and score tickets to a sold out LCD Soundsystem show (we got em, went to the show, drove home overnight). This strike mission felt a lot like that. Love all my homies, love all the shows we’ve been to.

Slices of life recently It’s felt very weird at times. You have the best day of your life, check your phone, then watch someone get murdered by the government while having the freedom to swipe that reality away if you want. People are getting pulled out of cars and homes for the color of their skin, fearing for their lives, while we move freely only facing the trivial decision of where to go tomorrow. At the same time it’s been very healing after a hard year, and has helped reinforce a feeling that connecting with friends and strangers at home and abroad is more important than ever in a world where isolation, fear, and division is now a profit center. The world isn’t as scary, nor are people as different as they say. What blame is put on “immigrants” is actually a longstanding failure of the government to operate in the interest of its people. Keep the citizens poor, uneducated, and vulnerable, and they won’t have the time or energy to fight back and demand better. For those of us who are able to center travel around snow, or even just ride at home, we are already in an extremely privileged group of people in the world. It usually means we have a little extra time, money, and health than others may have. I think it’s more important than ever that we utilize these gifts to protect our people in whatever ways we can.

When a bluetooth speaker ain’t good enough, bring the whole damn living room. The start of a new passion project with @shuksanaudio We hauled a lot of gear up through brushy forest for this one, gambling on the tiniest of weather windows before winter shut us down. The gamble paid off with perfect fall light and gorgeous colors. This one will be a fun one! More to come

Here is @yowzzers standing on top of a beast of a line waiting for first light on the face. A long time to stare down something as steep as this. Shot around Tahoe a couple winters ago while filming with @korua_shapes I didn’t even realize I took photos that day, so this was a nice shot to come across a few months ago while editing some old footage. Just found it again on my google drive; can’t let it disappear again.

A little postcard from the final sequence we shot in Tahiti. We didn’t have any rigging, so @adamevarts wedged himself against a collapsed tripod in the bed and got thrown around dirt roads for 10 minutes until we hit pavement.
