📬✨ Exciting news from Mr. Barrientos’ 4th Grade DI class!
Our students finally received letters from their pen pals and the excitement was through the roof! 💌😊
The best part? They’ll get the opportunity to meet their pen pals in person next week! 🤝🌟 What an amazing experience to build friendships, practice communication skills, and create lasting memories in two languages 💙✍️
Two of our wonderful students were recognized at the Compton Unified board meeting on Tuesday, May 12 for their amazing writing Spanish skills in the “2026 Certamen Literario Escribo en Español, XXXIV Edición”.
👏Congratulations to Miranda Vicente and Miguel Ramirez Benzaquen. 🎉
Congratulations to Mr. Quintero, Dickison’s Teacher of the Year!
Thank you for all that you do for our students each and every day. Your dedication, kindness, and commitment to helping our kindergarten students learn and grow are truly appreciated. We are so proud to celebrate you and this well deserved recognition!
This year, 78 students from our district in grades 3, 5, and 8 participated in the Escribo en Español Writing Contest, a statewide competition organized by the Education Office of the Consulate of Spain in collaboration with the California Department of Education.
We are incredibly proud to share that our very own Miranda Vicente, a 5th-grade student in our Dual Immersion Program, is one of only two winners from our district! She was honored with a certificate and plaque in recognition of her outstanding achievement.
State winners will be announced in April—best of luck, Miranda! We are so proud of you! 🎉
