'here we leave solid ground', 5x7" mixed media image transfer on panel, 2022. This past summer, while visiting the place that will always be my first home (Maine), I made a series of small works in prep for the second annual Art For Right Now exhibition at @gallerybgallery in Castine. I gessoed panels in the driveway at my folks' place. I borrowed paint supplies from my mother (and fellow artist, also showing work in this exhibition, @alison.dibble.art ). I set up a mini studio for myself on my dad's drawing table, overlooking the white pine tree that has grown tall beside their house. It was fun, painting and then transferring photos that I'd made on previous visits. When I headed back to my current home in BC, I packaged up the 10 mixed media works, all on 5x7" panel, and now, today, they're all listed on the gallery website alongside 679+ pieces from 56+ other artists. It's an incredible collection of small works, all priced at $200 for 5x7" and $300 for 8x10". . The list goes on. In my opinion, one of the critically important roles is that of project manager. And because I know and respect what an enormous amount of thought and effort and organizational skill is required for that role, I am profoundly impressed by the work of Goody-B in managing this massive project of coordinating 57+ artists and 689+ pieces of art.
