Been a little quiet here… partly because I haven’t been able to work on new projects for a while. Slowly getting back into it now, and really grateful for friends and family who’ve made that possible 🤍🌻 Sharing some old and new works soon at Loop of the Loom as part of Art in Dumbo. Reception on Thursday, May 7th ✨ @loopoftheloom @art_dumbo

The Sakata Orimono Residency Program has not only taught me a new skill as a textile maker but also offered the chance to deeply explore and share the intricacies of the beautiful Kasuri weaving technique from Kurume, Japan. In the last picture, you can see how I transferred my illustration onto the seed yarn (guide yarn) — the very first step in creating Kasuri fabric. Grateful to @parsonstextilesmfa for providing opportunities that connect us with programs nurturing traditional crafts. @sakataorimono @sakata.kimonofabric Photo credits: UNA Labs & Kentaro Ito @una_laboratories

Kurume Kasuri: Craftsman Experience Textile Residency Program July was a month of immense learning, growth, and new friendships. I feel incredibly honored to have been selected for the Kurume Kasuri Residency at Sakata Orimono (@sakataorimono ). My deepest thanks to Preeti and the MFA Textiles program (@parsonstextilesmfa ) for this incredible opportunity. Under the guidance of Kazuo San and the entire Sakata Orimono team, what started as a month-long textile making experience, blossomed into a lifetime of cherished memories. I am so grateful for the love, warmth, and wisdom shared with me during this time. I can’t wait to share more details and photos soon, but for now, here’s a glimpse of the beautiful moments we experienced together.

Shared Echoes from the series, Home: Architecture of Memories. This panoramic patchwork represents the living room’s (of my family home back in India) diverse yet cohesive nature. It's a reflection on the importance of communal spaces where we forge deep connections, reminding us of the profound joy and fulfillment found in togetherness. Some beautiful shots by @elated_errorist at Central Park. #naturaldye #patchwork #parsonsschoolofdesign #parsonsmfatextiles

It's in the process of making that one realises how beautiful the act of creating is. Glimpse of the process of my lastest series "Home: Architecture of Memories" #patchwork #bojagi #sewing #naturaldye #nowaste #parsonsschoolofdesign #parsonsmfatextiles
