Reveja a notícia sobre o primeiro edifício público construído com impressão 3D em Portugal. O projeto de arquitetura foi desenvolvido pelo grupo de investigação DG4ICFEUP, pela Professora Bárbara Rangel e pelo investigador Jaime Cunha (@jajcunha ), explorando conceitos de construção paramétrica industrializada e tecnologias avançadas de fabrico aditivo aplicadas à construção.
Desenvolvido para a Câmara Municipal de Matosinhos, através de uma colaboração entre a @_havelar_ avelar e a empresa de engenharia LAIII, o edifício destaca-se pelo seu carácter sustentável, promovendo a circularidade de objetos obsoletos e atribuindo-lhes uma nova vida.
O edifício ReCircular representa um marco na inovação da construção em Portugal, integrando metodologias BIM, automação e estratégias de sustentabilidade associadas à impressão 3D em grande escala.

This mobile 3D printing system is part of ongoing research at Digi@feup (Civil Engineering Department, FEUP) to develop efficient and sustainable construction methods. Designed for field testing, the equipment enables precise material deposition while optimizing resource use in building processes.
Through hands-on experimentation, we evaluate how automated systems can enhance reproducibility and reduce waste in civil engineering applications.

At the Digi@feup laboratory (Civil Engineering Department of FEUP), the ABB robotic arm is being used to test 3D printing techniques for construction elements. This project aims to improve the precision and efficiency of industrial processes applied to construction.
Through practical experiments, we investigate how automation can contribute to more sustainable and reproducible methods in civil engineering.
