Today marks the beginning of National Road Safety Week.
Everyone on the road is someone with a life, a story, somewhere to be and something on their mind.
But around 1,350 lives are lost on Australian roads each year.
Let's look out for each other and help everyone get home safely.
The new Mount Barker Hospital redevelopment will triple bed capacity - expanding from 34 to 102 beds. 🏥⚕️
The final structural beams have been installed for both the new main hospital building and the multi-deck car park, meaning both buildings have now reached their highest point.
Once complete, the new hospital will include:
✅ expanded specialist maternity, paediatric, neonatal, medical, surgical and sub-acute care
✅ three new operating theatres and a post-surgery recovery suite
✅ consult rooms for community and allied health, Aboriginal health and outpatient services
✅ an onsite dispensing pharmacy
✅ a new 12-bed acute mental health unit
The new main hospital building on track to open next year.
This is where the @t2dproject intersects with the Tram Grade Separation Projects. ☝️

Night work on the South Eastern Freeway, near the Crafers exit, will be taking place from this Sunday to repair safety barriers.

Traffic: Freeway remains open, with lane restrictions overnight and reduced speed limits in place (40km/h while crews are on site at night and 60km/h during the day).
Speed limits will return to normal once this work is complete.
Please slow down, follow onsite signage and allow extra travel time.
Improved accessibility and safety for pedestrians and cyclists ✅ 🚲
Work on the Forestville Reserve Archway Upgrade was recently completed.
The upgrades included 👇
👉 realigning and widening the shared use path to 3.5 metres
👉 creating a new pedestrian path
👉 widening two archways under the tram overpass
To minimise disruption, the majority of this work was undertaken during the temporary tram line closure for the Tram Grade Separation Projects.
😅 When you accidentally say “you too”...
But in this case, it might just be a sign to think about a career with flexible hours, work-life balance and training provided.

The two Tunnel Boring Machines that will dig the Torrens to Darlington Project's southern tunnels are being assembled at Clovelly Park.
The first cutterhead was recently lifted into place. The massive machines will soon begin carving out the twin Southern Tunnels, excavating through soil and rock on the 4.5-kilometre journey before they emerge just south of Anzac Highway in Glandore.
The T2D Project is the largest infrastructure project in SA’s history and will complete a 78km non-stop, traffic light-free motorway between Gawler and Old Noarlunga.

Thank you for your patience this Easter long weekend while crews have been carrying out important work across the tram network.
Teams have been working day and night on the Tram Grade Separations Projects at Morphett Road, South Road and Marion Road/Cross Road, as well as along the tram corridor. Work includes shared use path construction, installation of safety screens and fencing, platform and lift upgrades, services work and ongoing rail improvements.
Because of the nature of this work, it can’t be completed safely while trams are running, which is why a temporary full network closure has been required.
Thank you for your understanding while we get this work done safely and efficiently.
Trams will return to normal services from first service tomorrow (Tuesday, 7 April). Substitute buses are continuing to operate during the closure.
Crews are working hard over the Easter long weekend to carry out important upgrades across the tram network, including work as part of the Tram Grade Separation Projects.
With more than 200 people working day and night, work has been progressing at the Morphett Road, South Road and Marion Road/Cross Road overpasses, as well as within the tram corridor. This includes construction of shared use paths, installation of safety screens and fencing, platform and lift work.
This work can’t be done safely while trams are running, which is why a temporary full network closure has been in place.
Thanks for your patience while we get this work done safely and as quickly as possible.
Trams will return to the normal timetable from first service Tuesday, 7 April.
Substitute buses are operating during the closure. Check the Adelaide Metro website for details.
A splash of colour at Brighton Railway Station 🎨
A vibrant new mural has transformed the signal hut at Brighton Railway Station, thanks to a collaboration between our Adelaide Metro Rail Care team and local artists from @Tuttiarts .
Designer Ella Simpson from Ink and Ruby Studios worked with four artists from Tutti - Nathan Dolphin, Nathan Smith, Banjobe Hunt and Jacko Hooper - to create the colourful artwork.
Swipe through to see the mural take shape, from the artists at work to the finished result.
The project gives the station a fresh new look while helping deter graffiti and brighten the space for passengers and the local community.
Tutti Arts is a South Australian multi-arts organisation where learning disabled and neurodivergent artists create and showcase their work across a range of art forms.
Take a look next time you’re passing through Brighton Station.💙
A day in the life of Construction Manager Winnie Zhu, according to her daughter Sienna - who turns 4 today! (As well as Sienna's birthday, it's also International Day of Women and Girls in Science!) 💗
Women have made tremendous progress towards increased participation in higher education, but are still globally under-represented in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) industries.
When gender equality and diversity are prioritised in STEM fields, communities benefit from the innovation and equitable solutions that arise.💡
Role models like Winnie, in addition to equitable education and employment pathways such as our Denise Hatzi Memoriam Award, allow girls like Sienna to imagine a thriving and welcome future for themselves in STEM.
There are key changes for commuters around the Morphett Road Grade Separation Project now that the tram line has reopened.🚊
