The next day his father Rodney ran over deputy henderson killing him instantly. If you don't support Rodney but support Luigi you need to ask yourself why that is. Then ask yourself why a father felt the need to get his lick back while mourning. After that, ask yourself how the officer who shot Ryan from his left arm as he was running away from them is considered justified over "theft". While you're asking think about how many other Black boys, Black men, Black women, Black girls, Black people go through this every day. And if your answers aint the same as mine, start over and try again.

I still have some more braids to add but I'll get to it later lol this was originally started in 2019 when I came home from a study abroad program in South Africa (ref the last two pics). During one of our home-stays we lived in a town called Stellenbosch for a week and shared the stay with one of our peers. From what I remember I felt an extreme sadness a lot of the time in SA as we learned the history of how colonizers do what they do best.
During my time in Stellenbosch I did not feel the same warm welcome or inclusion as my white peer. However, my peer made sure to include me in the conversations and allowed me to share at the dinner table.
Sadly I internalized that experience as well as the history we learned making me feel the work was too much for me to do. Only recently I gathered the courage to artistically acknowledge this experience due to the value of my life, my work, and who my enemy truly is. Im not dying for you heauxs.

Today I had the honor of finally meeting Dr. Burney J. Hollis, a tremendous pillar in the Morgan State Community🧡💙🐻 He has shared decades of his life (since '68) dedicating his leadership to push boundaries for all those around him and especially as a professor, chair, and dean of the english departments at Morgan.
Not only did I have the opportunity to witness his kindness, warmth, and how many people appreciate him for all he does but also the opportunity to paint a portrait of him along with one of my colleages Skye @visceralvisionary (painting not pictured). If you look closely, some of the books tell a SMALL PART of his PROFOUND story and commitment to Morgan State University!
