About last night……..
Art doesn’t always hang quietly on the wall,
and evenings don’t always pass without leaving a mark.
Last night left one, deeply lingering.
With creativity moving through plates, through film,
through immersive, connecting conversation.
At Devour Studios it wasn’t just a gathering,
it was a convergence.
Sommeliers, winemakers, filmmakers, chefs…
not simply doing, but expressing.
expertly and poetically, guiding us through an experience
where every art form wove itself into the next.
Nothing stood alone.
Everything belonged in perfect harmony with the rest.
I am still beaming, full in a way that had nothing to do with food (and everything to do with it).
Grateful to have shared space with people who care for their craft this deeply.
And as a proud sponsor, I wasn’t just observing, I was absorbing.
Every last bite.
Every last drop.
And especially every last word.
Because there are few art forms that strike me harder
than the beauty of language.
in all its forms.
Spoken. Unspoken.
In gesture, in silence, in cultural rhythm.
It was all there.
And I’m still in awe.

My first time experiencing Devour Studios in Wolfville. What a beautiful space with the best view in the area overlooking the water.
Last night was an evening full of fine wine and the most delicious food created by chef Jason Lynch, chef Colin Bevington, chef Malcolm, Campbell, and chef Annaleisa Scigliano.
Each dish was paired with wine and a movie. It really celebrated the emotional connection we have to food, where it came from and the life around it. The first dish was a house sourdough bread and the act of breaking bread with my colleagues from Engel & Volkers was a moment all of its own ❤️

Legendary producer and sonic architect Daniel Lanois is set to bring an intimate and deeply atmospheric live experience to Nova Scotia this fall, with newly announced performances in both Wolfville and Halifax.
Known for shaping the sound of icons like U2, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young, Lanois isn’t just stepping behind the board—he’s stepping into the spotlight with a stripped-back trio performance that leans heavily into harmony, space, and the raw power of the human voice.
The shows, happening October 9 at Devour! Studios and October 10 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, stem from a unique creative spark that began in a small chapel on the outskirts of Berlin. Alongside collaborators Jermaine Holmes and Jim Wilson, Lanois developed a quiet, vocally driven configuration—one that trades volume for intimacy and lets the room itself become part of the instrument.
“The more I travel, the more it all bleeds together… life itself and of course singing,” Lanois shared, emphasizing a return to the voice as the “original instrument.”
A recipient of seven GRAMMY Awards and a member of the Order of Canada, Lanois continues to evolve as both a performer and visionary. These East Coast dates offer a rare chance to experience his work in a setting that mirrors the very origins of this latest chapter.
Tickets go on sale Friday, April 24 at 12 p.m. through Sonic Concerts. The Wolfville show is 19+, while the Halifax performance is open to all ages. Both shows begin at 8 p.m.
