We’ve been highlighting the amazing local small businesses that generously donated to the event’s silent auction, but now it’s time to shine the spotlight on the music: the bands and musicians that are also donating their time and talents to support our immigrant neighbors via the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition @pirc_oregon . Decadent ‘80s DJ NoN We are so fortunate and honored to have Joe Yug spinning for us tonight. His Decadent ‘80s @portland80snight show is booked every weekend, so it’s amazing that he’s donating his time for us on a Saturday night. Joe has been club, DJ and promoter since 1988 and has played clubs and events on five continents around the world. He’s big time, folks, and he chose to join us. ❤️ DEVOtees One of the most exciting new tribute bands on the local scene, @devoteespdx have been performing on some big stages lately and are drawing the spuds out of the cupboards. They are devoted to honoring the DEVO message, aesthetic and art and believe that we can make this a beautiful world when we treat all spuds with the dignity and human rights they deserve. Duty Now! For the Future! @thewannabe52s Arguably the best tribute band in the NW, The Wanna Be-52’s have been bringing the party out of bounds to Portlanders for over ten years! They are made up of six deeply experienced, fun-loving musicians who pride themselves in sounding as close to the original early recordings as possible, and bring that energy to the stage. PARTY! 🎉 @blonde.neon Karin, Noura, Andrew, Ian, Justin, and Ross are so happy to bring this event to you tonight. As they have since 2021, they’ll bring the electric energy of ‘80s new wave and rock to life, and celebrate the fierce female voices that defined a generation. From Blondie’s punk-pop perfection to Pat Benatar’s arena rock anthems, from the Go-Go’s infectious energy to Berlin’s sultry new wave sophistication, we look forward to seeing you dancing with us like it’s 1985 all over again.

Some nights you just need to laugh with other human beings — the kind of laughter where you completely forget what kind of week you’ve had and take a break from the news cycle. That’s why I’m excited to share a silent auction donation from @bridge.city.improv , one of the Portland area’s most beloved improv companies. Since 2018, Bridge City Improv has built a reputation for smart, high-energy, laugh-out-loud performances featuring some of the region’s funniest and most talented improvisers. Their shows have appeared at @portlandcenterstage , @sirentheater , @echotheaterco_pdx , and more, and they’ll soon be opening their own theater space in downtown Milwaukie. Some places become part of your life in the sweetest way. For me (Karin), @creochocolate is one of those places. I started going to Creo Chocolate soon after they opened in 2014, and I was hooked right away, not just by the chocolate, but by the people behind it. They’re a lovely family, and every visit feels personal. Now, when I walk into their NW 23rd shop, they greet me by name and know exactly what I like (Norm!) That warmth is part of what makes Creo so special. The other part is that their chocolate is absolutely exceptional and my favorite, without question. Creo crafts extraordinary bean-to-bar chocolate right here in Portland, sourcing cacao directly from partner farmers in Ecuador and making each batch with incredible care, integrity, and artistry. Introducing: The Strike a Pose Package 📸✨💇‍♀️ This package combines two wonderful local talents to help one lucky bidder feel confident, radiant, and camera-ready. First is Mary Spagnola (@maryspagnola ), stylist, who generously donated a professional cut and style. After searching for years for a stylist who is truly skilled at cutting, styling, and color, and who knows how to work with curly hair, I (Karin) found Mary. I’ve been her ever since. Licensed originally in California in 2004 and in Portland since 2006, she brings deep experience and genuine care to her work. Naturally curly herself, she’s especially gifted with curly hair, but her expertise spans all hair types, including fine and thinning hair. She’s also an exceptional colorist, skilled in everything from seamless grey coverage and natural blondes to fun fashion colors, and she offers affirming, welcoming care for all genders. Paired with Mary’s gift is a one-hour portrait session donated by Rick Majewski, (@rick_majewski ) a gifted photographer whose work spans photojournalism, weddings, music festivals, and portrait photography. Rick has more than 15 years of experience behind the lens, with work featured in BuzzFeed, Mother Jones, and Chicago Sun-Times, among many others. His portrait work is vibrant, artful, and full of life. The winner will receive a one-hour digital photo shoot, up to three looks, at a location of their choosing, with a gallery of high-resolution images to keep. Together, this package is more than a haircut and a photo session. It’s a chance to feel seen and celebrated. There are certain Portland shops that just suck us in, and @collagepdx is one of them. It’s the kind of place you wander into for “just a quick stop” and suddenly realize an hour has gone by because every nook sparks a new idea and gives you courage to express your creative side. (Karin says she could happily spend hours there.) ❤️ We’re happy to share they donated art supplies plus a $25 gift card to our Blonde Aid silent auction. This independently owned, family-operated Portland store is packed with inspiration.
