The transition from maiden to mother was the most holy initiation of my lifetime. It was the most profound and beautiful yet oftentimes terrifying and isolated time I’ve ever experienced. The dichotomy co-exists especially after the very traumatic early arrival of my first baby, creating a resilience that has moved mountains for myself and my children. Motherhood is truly a portal, and I am sending deep love, admiration and respect to every mother who sees this ❤️
I have two very rare French couture pieces from the 1920s - 1930s that just landed in store. First is a 1920s gradient pink and orange gelatin sequin flapper dress with asymmetrical scalloped sweep hem comprising of black sequins in floral motif ( matches the bodice )made in france tag. Second is a 1930s bias French crepe back silk satin multicolored floral t-strap halter gown with covered buttons. Both exquisite. DM for more information. #devorevintage
I just got this 1920s silk crepe heavily beaded flapper dress back from my seamstress, it has been in my collection for many years. It is a neutral silk crepe with thousands of hand sewn glass beads in a fan, bow and bird motif. In twelve years I’ve never found anything art deco in a fan pattern or motif; I have had less than 15 pieces with birds or bows. It has some remaining color bleed, but really who cares; I am beginning to think some pieces can look rad when a little thrashed. I did not attempt to clean this like my other pieces with color bleed remover but it could be done with care. #artdeco #1920sdress #rarevintage
