A new Burs doc directed by @devonsavas is out on our YouTube. “What Did I Think That I Was Made Of?” covers our September 2024 tour of central-eastern Canada, featuring live performance footage of us road testing the new record extensively.

Lots to say & a bunch of thank yous on the way…today, I want to express gratitude to anybody who has lent their time, attention and/or love to the Bursphere. All praise to Lauren & Ray for inviting me into a heart-filled vehicle of creative scheming on day one, Aidan for resurrecting our band with soul power & virtuosity, and Paige for infinite mastery & care in translating our songs to the physical world ☄️
This album was a two year project of familial affection, dissonance, growth and synchronicity. Times of building trust, nurturing our collective vision and having a laugh led to a souvenir that I hope will speak to hearts of all shapes across time. I am in awe of my brothers & sister for championing tenderly cathartic music that cuts to the core, and I am so proud that we get to release our grips today. Bandcamp or vinyl recommended if you want to submerge yourself into the S,O world (credits, lyrics, visuals, etc). A new full-length album comes out on Sept 19th called “Afterglades”. The 2nd slide is from a recent session at @catherinenorthstudios featuring a live version of MO’s latest single, showcasing the most insanely fun & godlike crew. “Afterglades” will be commemorated with performances by this ensemble at @popmontreal & @tdmusichall (TO) in the Fall 🎫
When Tom connected with me about recording on this record, I was presented with an exciting challenge to blend the worlds of upright, fretless, electric & effects-laden bass in a manner that suited his all-encompassing pieces. Translating this to a live group of multi-instrumentalists has been an exhilarating & gratifying undertaking! I feel gifted to swim in this collection ~ truly some of the most important music that I have ever encountered 🐟
Mappe Of draws circles around so many of my favourite musical realms, yet is so Tom-pilled that it remains completely immune from being derivative. I hope you will all find it in you to submerge yourself! Enjoy the tunes & see you at the shows 🦆💨🎧

4 of the most intricately tender musical works by @milkknife_ have released today! The first of many, a timeless collection of creations that the universe may finally grace its ears with! It has been an insane gift to watch someone who I love with every fibre build a world that would break/capture/activate my heart if we were complete strangers! Getting to swim in Dr Paigers’ creative world is one of my favourite joys of existence, and it is time for me to invite you all to dive in deep for a few minutes 🐥🔗
Some favourite EP memories include workshopping glittery counterpoints (Mis), gunslinging ebowed acoustic guitars (Comb), wrangling a feedback orchestra (IMGO), trying to replicate the saturated reverb that Pile uses on their vocals (Everything Forever), minimal low freqs, VHS practice, Ableton party tricks, Convolver worship, Kiki snugs & freaky ass tunings.
