Breathtaking in more ways than one… 😅🌿 Our Waggy Walk from Castle Drogo down to Fingle Bridge certainly got the legs working, but wow… what a reward. From the steep climbs to the sweeping views, this route is pure magic. Ancient woodland, crystal-clear waters, and that feeling of being completely immersed in nature 🌳 We enjoyed a lovely mix of on-lead and off-lead sections, along with plenty of reminders about our all-important paws on paths message, helping to protect ground-nesting birds and the precious wildlife that call this woodland home 🐾💚 Plus, with designated splash zones along the route, there were plenty of chances for the dogs to cool off and enjoy the water safely 💦🐶 A truly unforgettable walk for our Waggy walkers—and one we’d recommend to any outdoor lover looking for a bit of adventure (and a good excuse to catch your breath at the top! 😄) A huge thank you to @dom_on_dartmoor for leading us through this truly exceptional walk. #WaggyWalks #DevonWalks #CastleDrogo #FingleBridge #DogFriendlyDays ExploreDevon PawsOnPaths ProtectWildlife OutdoorAdventure

Hi everyone, Ambassadog Gary here 🐾 It was World Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, and here in East Devon we’re welcoming back some very special visitors… the nightjars! After an incredible journey all the way from Africa, they’ll now be settling in to breed, laying their eggs in shallow scrapes on the ground amongst the gorse. 🪺 That’s why it’s extra important to keep your paws on paths and give these amazing birds the space they need during nesting season 💛 Want to stay in the loop with local wildlife news and seasonal updates like this? Head to the South East Devon Wildlife website and sign up to their newsletter 🌿 #WorldMigratoryBirdDay #DevonWildlife #PawsOnPaths #Nightjar

🐾 Ever wondered what responsible dog ownership really means? Our Assistant Project Officer Trish recently spoke with BBC Radio Devon about how small actions can make a big difference for wildlife, other people, and our dogs too 💚 Often, it’s the small positive changes that help us become more responsible dog owners, and they all add up. From understanding when to use a lead, to respecting sensitive habitats, it’s all about helping everyone enjoy Devon’s special places together. 🎧 Take a listen to learn more about the Devon Loves Dogs project and how you can play your part. #DevonLovesDogs #ResponsibleDogOwnership #DogFriendlyDevon #ProtectOurWildlife #WaggyWalks

Even with a bit of rain, today’s Waggy Walk at Fire Beacon Hill was something special 💙🌧️ The bluebells were absolutely stunning, blanketing the woodland in colour and reminding us that a little drizzle doesn’t take away the magic, it adds to it… and the dogs certainly didn’t mind! Proof that every walk can be a beautiful one, whatever the weather 🐾 #waggywalk #DogWalkingDevon #woodland #walkies

This week our OG ambassadog Maisie turned 11! 🐾🎉 Maisie has been part of the Devon Loves Dogs family from the very beginning, and this week we celebrated her special day the best way we know how… with a Waggy Walk alongside all her lovely friends 💛 Today’s celebration took us to the wonderful Decoy Country Park in Teignbridge, a fantastic spot for dogs and their humans, with beautiful lakes, open green spaces, woodland walks and plenty of sniff-worthy trails to explore 🌿 If you’d like to plan your own visit and discover more about this great location, head over to our Out and About page via the link in our bio 🔗

🐾 Beach restrictions are now in place 🐾 As we head into the summer months (1st May – 30th September), you may notice some seasonal changes on local beaches across East Devon. Some beaches offer dog-friendly areas, while others may ask for dogs to be on leads or have certain guidelines in place, so it’s always worth a quick check before you go. 🌊 Top tips for a happy beach visit: • Check signs when you arrive • Choose a dog-friendly beach or area • Remember to clean up after your dog • Bring water and take care on warm sand If you’re looking for alternative places to explore, take a look at the Out and About page on our website for lots of dog-friendly walk ideas 🐕 There are still plenty of fantastic spots to discover together, perfect for making the most of those seaside adventures 💙
