This @selenagomez cover story for @elle_mexico was such an important shoot for me creatively. At the time, we were both still really young, still learning, still finding our place in editorial spaces, and I remember pushing myself hard to experiment and not play it safe.
She was fresh off the show Wizards of waverly place and I absolutely loved that show at the time. This was her first shoot as an adult leaving her Disney image behind.
One thing I learned early on is to never be afraid of foreground elements, color gels, reflections, texture, or anything that adds depth and emotion to an image. Sometimes an idea doesnโt work right away, and thatโs okay. Swap out the foreground. Change the gel. Move the light. Shift the angle. Keep shooting.
A lot of the strongest images happen after the moment most people wouldโve stopped.
The more you shoot, the more options you give yourself in the edit. That freedom matters. Some days the energy clicks instantly, other days it takes time to discover the frame that says everything you were trying to say.
Donโt stop early. Keep pushing. Keep experimenting. You never know which frame is going to become the one.
This shoot will always mean a lot to me because it represents growth, risk, and two young creatives trying to create something beautiful together.

Brandy has always been one of my biggest inspirations as an artist. Her ability to evolve, stay fearless, and create from such an honest place is something Iโve always admired deeply. Thereโs a certain emotion, style, and soul she brings to everything she does that pushed me to want more from myself creatively.
This shoot in particular is crazy, literally every frame is perfection. Me looking back at the images Iโm still blown away, I canโt get enough!

This live it up shoot was an amazing day!
So awesome collaborating with @jlo , @pitbull and @jessyterrero on this one. I always have so much fun working with them.
Directing a music video means thinking in two languages at once the moving image and the still one.
these stills came from two completely different sets. the b&w world was built around a bold graphic floor, overhead angle, and a mirror to double the subject without doubling the setup. the teal set leaned into practical reflections mirrored panels, crystal chandeliers, a single color gel that turned everything into one tone.
@dixiedamelio made that easy. thereโs a stillness she brings to a set that most people spend years trying to learn.

American Psycho x Forever
Hereโs the two clips stacked.
I actually edited this with just using the sounds. I was surprised how many of the scenes were very complimentary of each other. Itโs almost like the one on top is what heโs thinking, in the shot below.
Backstory Below.
Hereโs a video that I directed with my friend @AsherMonroe a couple years ago. I couldnโt get over how well his acting was on this day. The video originally had nothing to do with the American Psycho movie, it was actually inspired Stanley Kubrickโs The Shining. ๐ฅ I recently had a fun realization that it could pair perfectly with that iconic โmorning routineโ monologue from American Psycho, so I gave Ashers Forever video a little re-edit and added a few pickup shots to pull the story together. Voilร , an homage to a classic, all with just a few hours of extra filming myself with the help of @devon_speckman using the Sony FX6. Hope you all enjoy this little twist since it is Halloween weekend๐ญ๐
