Something something, national poetry month? You could say me and poetry are having a moment, I’ve been reading more these days than I have in a while and it’s feeling good. Shoutout to @invisibooks and their amazing roster of @danispinxo @caoanstee and Kate Siklosi. Some Mtl books I’m catching up on care of @poetinoxalis @leighkotsy and @durnfordrobin Thanks to Willow for introducing me to the work of @aorathian Old Toronto connections with @paulvermeersch Manifestos from @anstrutherpress Plus Paul Celan, Mina Loy, Tristan Tzara, Denise Levertov, and Mary Ellen Solt. Down the concrete poetry rabbit hole with Milton Klonsky’s “Speaking Pictures” anthology, across the Black Mountain with Donald Allen’s “The New American Poetry” (for the second time). Still working my way through Pessoa’s Book of Disquiet, but life goals!

“I’m with the artists. I didn’t ask the permission of the ANC. I didn’t ask permission of Buthelezi, or Desmond Tutu, or the Pretoria government. And to tell you the truth, I have a feeling that when there are radical transfers of power on either the left or the right, the artists always get screwed.” —Paul Simon
