This is one of my favorite photos of Louie. When I first started rocking an afro, he sent it to me so we could compare and contrast (his was bigger).
To know Louie is to know that he was one of a kind. There will never be another Louie Chaban.
He had simply the best taste in everything; art, music, fashion, and of course people.
Lou put me on to some of the most obscure musicians and artist (courtesy of YouTube links sent at all hours of the day). Sometimes we’d skip hours of work to go check out exhibitions or gossip or make trouble. It didn’t really matter the place or timezone, if Lou called, I was answering.
To love Louie and to be loved by Louie is no small feat. I feel so lucky to have been in his orbit.
Obsessed with you forever Lou.
I hope you’re back with sweet angel girl Nata.
Ideas and dreams are like shooting stars. You only have them for a moment before they’re out of view. And if you don’t act on them, that is to say, cast your wish upwards and outwards, then they skip onto the next stargazer, who maybe will do what you were too slow to enact.
