Now for a little story time.
Our debut album lodestar had been out, heading towards two years. Our 2023 summer run was complete, I had my personal favorite year / summer of my entire life. Open to experience, optimistic about what 2024 had planned for me and us as a band. February 2024 rolls around, new demos are flowing in and it’s everything we had hoped and dreamed, ‘thinking of you’ was one of the first demos we did. In my personal life, I start noticing that every day is kind of just bad? The picture of the glass is the kind of shit I’m talking about, just small inconveniences that make me wonder “dude what the fuck is in the air”. July rolls around, my favorite month. The day after my birthday I get fired from my job. I then proceed to have a falling out w/ a friend. More stuff you name it, it all happened.
Backstory, we’re filming the ‘flask’ music video for our dear friends BLB. Days before we chatted about how cool the word grasshopper looked. Anyways, there were tons of grasshoppers in the location we filmed at. The day I got fired in July 2024, I call up some of the band members and I’m like yo let’s link up for a sec and chat. We talked about my next steps and how I should approach this time of my life and as we’re yappin a grasshopper had been chillin with us. I threw that picture in too.
2024 continues to be bad. I had to move. With the last of my funds I idiotically took a trip to clear my mind. It gave me just enough insight to see this era for what is was. My conclusion - Being an adult fucking SUUUUCKS.
We all had our own versions of this, I won’t air out everyone else’s experiences and I’m also running up my word limit. But we all naturally hovered over the same topic. To me, grasshopper is about growing up. We all made this during a really hard time & I’m so happy to have been able to navigate that with friends and through music.

‘DIGITAL BLUE’ - The Debut Album From Cleo Adara - OUT NOW
Many of you didn’t know, I have been working on a project for some years with my dear friends mike and tanis. We are a band called Cleo Adara. A three piece based in SLC (kinda). We put so much work into making sure we released a project we thought was right, and today I can finally say we did it.
it’s taken a lot of effort for us to lift this project off the ground, but back in May/June of last year I finally made something out of the spare time I had away from CM to really focus it into this project, and as a result - our first full length album ‘digital blue’
thank you for the ears, thank you Mike for being patient with me, thank you Tanis for your support and involvement even through rough distance.
This project is not for everyone, it is a very specific emotion that I have a hard time attempting to convey in other outlets, I am very appreciative for having this band be that for me and yeah, enjoy 🤬
