A story I think needs to be told.
In 2021, I was the lead timer for this race. When the top runner crossed the announcer mat, the name âJJ Jingleheimer-Schmidtâ appeared on the screen. The announcer next to me reacted with disgust, and I found it to be the most amusing thing I had witnessed as a timer. The announcer urgently asked me to find out his real name. I feigned ignorance, but I had actually found a small detail in his registration data that revealed his true identity.
After finishing the race, JJ was pursued by a local news reporter but continued through the crowd to his car and drove off, presumably heading home. Race committee members and newspaper officials were quite displeased.
The legend of JJ lived on within my friend circle on into 2022. I had a mutual friend who knew the real JJ, and since I was racing that year and he wasnât, I asked for permission to continue the âJJ Jingleheimer-Schmidtâ legacy. He, of course, agreed. But bearing that name came with great responsibility.
I won the race.
Unfortunately, unlike the JJ of past, I was immediately recognized and outrage ensued. The editor of the local paper found my email. One reporter, disgusted, remarked, âWhat will he show his grandkids in the future?â My answer to that is, Iâll show them JJ Jingleheimer-Schmidt.
Cutting to the Chase, Iâve only won the race three times because John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt; his name was my name too.
BBUDZ Episode 13: Abarrotes Carrillo w/ Hembree & The Boys
âThe Breakfast Budz would like to apologize, somewhat profusely, for our time apart. They had no good reasons for dicking you out of the premium, silly butt content youâve come to tolerate from them. But here they are, back with a lost episode, a stunning new theme song, more handsome men than ever before, some sloppy eating and at least a loose promise that there could be a season two. If youâre good. If the freaks get hungry again.â -Sean âSkaâ Moeller

Between events for Running Wild and organizing RWE teams, it reminds us what a great running community the QC has.
Thanks to all of you who: supported the Kids for Vets lemonade stand, that ran with us at the Raccoon Motel this Wednesday (& all other Wednesdayâs), that cheered on Kernel Husky at the mascot race, that attended the Running Wild BIX Expo, those of you who celebrated with us at Victory Lane AND all of you crazies that joined our race team.
Weâre tired, BUT we love all yâall.đ˝đ˝đ˝
