My introduction to superheroes happened when I was 10 years old.
I was admitted to University Hospitals of Cleveland, and my aunt brought me a comic book.
The idea that ordinary people, even those with a genetic mutation like Cystic Fibrosis, could do extraordinary things gave me strength when I needed it most.
Twenty-eight years later, I’m still carrying that same belief with me.
Needless to say, working with John Cena and Jen Holland on Peacemaker Season 2 was an absolute blast.
I’m beyond grateful. 💕

Ten years ago, I spent the last of my savings to book a flight to Mexico to see a girl. We had so much fun I missed my flight home and stayed another week.
That girl is now my wife, my partner, my companion, and my best friend. Together we’ve faced navigating her becoming a citizen, hospitalizations, a pandemic, the miracle of Trikafta, starting over in Miami, the loss of loved ones, the blessing of good health and so much more.
It’s safe to say that Fer has changed my life in ways I never imagined, and I know the best chapters are still ahead, filled with love, adventure, and everything we are building together. ❤️ Te amo mi FerBear
In honor of #cysticfibrosisawareness month, here’s a quick clip from my documentary Sink Or Swim (2016). My good friend @devin.broadbent and I spoke about creating a documentary that not only captures the emotion and weight of dealing with CF… but how me might bring awareness to others who are impacted by the disease.
It’s a story of overcoming the challenges that life throws at us, and the will to find love regardless of an uncertain future.
