We’re excited to share video from the world premiere of "here is the picture of the wounded bird, i’m sorry for your future loss," a new work for solo violin and orchestra by
@aaronquinnguitar .
The title invokes the image of a bird as a metaphor for the future—symbolizing individuality and freedom, while also carrying the weight of hopes and possibilities that may not unfold as expected. In this deeply expressive work, Quinn explores the tension between expectation and acceptance, uncertainty and optimism.
Through a shifting relationship between solo violin and orchestra, the music moves between moments of fragility, isolation, and resonance. The soloist at times shines, at times disappears into the ensemble, and ultimately finds balance and support—mirroring the complex journey of identity, belonging, and self-definition that inspired the piece.
This work was written for and premiered by
@devimarie , violin, whose artistry and distinctive voice are central to the piece, and performed by the Worthington Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Maestro
@antoinetclarkconductor . We are grateful to Aaron Quinn for entrusting us with this powerful new work and to Devin for bringing it to life with such clarity and emotional depth.
We invite you to watch, listen, and experience this remarkable new piece.
