Finally sharing some snaps from a road trip down the coast this summer. Nine days along Highway 1, from Los Angeles to Seattle. The route took us through landscapes that felt almost unreal—sheer cliffs, endless ocean, and the quiet stillness of redwood forests. Even with the road closures in Big Sur, we adjusted and kept moving, finding new roads when the planned ones weren’t an option. The trip wasn’t about rushing to get somewhere—it was about being present with the landscapes and the moments they offered. Every turn revealed something new, a reminder of how vast and varied the world can be. You can check out more photos and pit stops we made over @goodsam

New work! Had the opportunity to spend some time in Parry Sound and learn about the amazing impact of Tim Horton’s summer camps. These camps offer kids, who might not otherwise have the opportunity, a chance to connect with themselves and others in the great outdoors and enjoy all the wonders that summer camp has to offer. 🏕️✨ A big thank you to Brandon and MJ, who attended the camps as kids and shared their inspiring stories about how the experience shaped them into the people they are today. So very excited to be sharing new work for @goodsam ✨✨✨ In the fall of last year @ajbischoff and @jsugrue approached me with the challenge of crafting a film that captured the spirit of the great American road trip. Before I knew it, we had a convoy of 8 people driving an RV, a sprinter van and a travel trailer up and down the U.S. 395 — chasing sunrises, sunsets and following our instincts on the open road. Through deserts and forests, up mountains and down the pacific coast highway - the spirit of adventure and beauty of the landscapes we found ourselves in made this project very memorable, one I won’t soon forget. Very excited to share that my recent short, Haunted Hollow, will be making it’s world premiere at @nouveaucinema in Montreal in October 👻 👻 👻 The film will screen October 6 & 8 as part of the national competition at the Cinematheque Quebecoise. I’m very excited to finally share that One Home To Another has been invited to screen as part of IFFR 2023 (@iffr ) in Rotterdam later this month!! It feels very full circle to be able to invite family and friends to a cinema in their part of the world and I can only imagine what my Opa would think if he knew that the Super 8 footage he captured so long ago would be up on the big screen ✨ The film will screen three times alongside some other great shorts between Jan 27-Jan 29, with exact details to be announced later this month. Scouting country roads in the prairies with @brynee 🌾

In October of 2020, I spent a month living in The Netherlands working on a short documentary called One Home To Another. The film features super 8mm home videos that my Opa made in the early 60s, documenting his family’s experience of immigrating to the Canadian Prairies. It offered a chance to reflect on what home meant to me during a time that felt very unsettled, and allowed me to learn more about both sides of my family — the ones who immigrated to Canada and the ones who stayed in The Netherlands. I’m very excited to share that One Home To Another will be screening at the end of the month in Montreal as a part of @ridm_festival on November 22 and 26 - link in bio for tickets and screening details. ✨✨✨ This film wouldn’t be what it is without a beautiful score by @dbaldassero sound design by Evan Jerred and colour by @just_aross Lastly, a big thank you to @ontarioartscouncil for supporting the project 🌷 🌷🌷
